Hi Melanie 💚 I'm 23 and I have identified as straight for most of my life, I've only ever been with men. However over the last 2 years I've been thinking about girls more in a sexual way. Do you think it's odd that I've only just developed these feelings for women? Ive noticed that a lot of BI or lesbian women know they're into other women from a young age but for me it's been something that's recently developed. Is this odd? 😬 xxxxx

this is literally the case with me as well. i only really started realising and acknowledging it when i was maybe 19. often heterosexuality is kind of learnt, since it's so ingrained, so yeah people can believe they're straight for a long time but basically start to 'unlearn' heterosexuality to figure out that they're not straight.

Thats not weird at all. I am 26 and for most of my life thought I was straight. My best friend in high school was very close minded and thought being gay was "gross" so I think I repressed any feelings I may have felt for the same sex back then. Wasnt until I was 18 that I realized that I was into women beyond just thinking that theyre pretty. Dont know if youve had a similar situation, but I personally never thought that it was a possibility for me to be anything other than straight until I really opened myself up to my real feelings

I don't even really wanna label myself - I also try to always get the massage across through the way a talk about everything in general like I mean I am an open person in general so I can really relate to your experiences 😍😘 but if someone asks me about my sexuality I would say I am bi but sadly I am living in a really narrow-minded countryside so I never really meet bi/lesbian/pan girl so I have not that much of possibility to experience my sexuality which makes me really sad..

+Paul Rudholm That came off as a bit come-into-the-back-of-my-van-so-you-can-see-some-puppies/candy... I assume you found out you were bi because you realized you are attracted towards men & woman?

I'm bisexual myself and you are actually one of the reasons I realised that (one one side because of your videos and on the other because I had a little crush on you when I first discovered your videos haha) so thank you a lot for that

Your makeup looks so pretty here! For a while I identified as heteroflexible before I had a full grasp of what bisexuality is. I've been in a relationship with a man for 8 years and have only dated men, but I'm attracted to men and women, and I've learned and accepted that that can mean I'm bisexual, and I'm so glad I've learned that I don't have to have experiences with both to identify that way. My family doesn't know because I don't really have a reason to bring it up and I doubt they'd understand, but having that understanding myself is great.

So today I told my friends about being bi. Honestly so happy and proud of myself. I couldn't have done it without your videos and how comfortable you are with your sexuality. You're such an inspiration Melanie. Thankyou❤️❤️❤️

Why do you prefer that label rather than bisexual or bicurious?

You do such a great job with these videos. Do you know a great thing about living in America? There were literally 22 lead bi characters on TV last year and 22 supporting bi characters. I was shocked when I actually starting counting them. Things have changed so much in the last 3 years. I'm sure that's a sign of things to come for the rest of the world. :-)

Omg I'm so glad I found you! I am a 21 year old Bisexual and your videos have made me feel more confident with finally coming out to my parents. Like I need to do that and knowing that there are larger voices in this world who are like me and can defend me are so validating. Bisexuality is real and I used to doubt that in myself! I used to think I had to choose one gender or another, and that made me feel pressure to find where I belonged in a specific stereotype! I even thought for a while that I was trans as well! You're not alone in that! I'm very lucky to have a safe community in college that allows me to be my truest self, but when I come home, I have to hide myself and I can't handle it anymore. Just because I am in a hetero relationship doesn't mean I am not who I am. Ugh thank you so much for existing, I am subscribed! haha

i think i am bicurious? i feel almost the exact way, i bond way more easily with men, sexually i like both... i dont know i have had one crush on a girl yet but i am open to love both so i guess i am bisexual? naturally, i feel more comfortable with women... and i told my friends and they are obviously okay with it and surprisingly a few told me they were bi too which obv was soooo nice! i probably wont tell my parents because i support lgbtq openly and my mum knows i accept gays etc so if i ever will be with a girl i wont hesitate to tell her since i have never "came out" as straight. #bifamily

Melanie, thank you so very much for sharing your thoughts and experience with us. I'm bi, and still sort of getting comfortable with who I am. I adore your honesty and it's so nice to hear others point of view. I love how your videos feel like we're all sitting together having a chat. So lovely 💜

You have genuinely helped me identify my sexuality so much! I used to think I was completely straight for so long and I am in a happy long term relationship with a guy. However, I do cheerleading and I found myself checking out so many of the girls and I was just like WHAT AM I DOING :( Hearing you talk so freely in these videos has helped me clock that I'm not weird and that I'm just bi xD

I appreciate this video so much! I am also bisexual but it sometimes feels like the only representation I see is from people who are either lesbian, gay, or trans in the LGBTQ+ community. Also, it's so important to see and recognize the complexities of sexuality and the fact that it's different between each person, which is something that bi people have a lot of experience with. Love this!
