My Mum was visiting her cousin and my Dad was friends with the cousin - he was also visiting on his way back from India (where he had bought a ring as he believed he would meet his wife soon). They went out as a group of mates to get breakfast. He saw my mum and gave her the ring the same day after saying, 'I'll marry you one day'. She took the ring....My mum already had a boyfriend who was a pilot. I asked my mum why she took the ring and she said, she thought my dad was so funny... My Dad worked as a flight dispatcher for the same airlines. When he found out my mum was taken, he started writing her letters and dispatching the pilot to random places...lol! Coincidentally, the pilot and my mum already had a shaky relationship and she loved my dads humorous letters....the rest, as they say is history xx

Molly is the perfect example of how women are gaslighted in the media. When I watched Love Island, I absolutely loved Molly and it was genuinely a complete surprise to me that people gave her hate. But I realised it was because I don’t read tabloids, so I never had that narrative they had created about her in my head and just took her at face value. Molly was an easy target for tabloids because she’s beautiful (jealousy is an irrational emotion so makes readers easier to manipulate), had an “unconventional” career which may have made the less open minded viewer question her intentions and a strong personality. It’s much easier for papers to sell drama stories than anything supporting / bigging up women! I’m so glad that Molly didn’t let the haters bring her down as now everyone gets to see the amazing personality she is without the media infecting their way of thinking every day. I love her!
