I collect different Bibles, mostly Study Bibles, and I enjoy researching the various translations & paraphrases- While, at 76, I’m pretty iPhone techy, I still like to open my hard copy Bible and have it in my hands while reading. Have I made “Bible collecting” an idol in my life?? Absolutely not! What I hope & pray daily is that one day when I am gone-God’s going to use these Bibles to speak to someone’s heart about Jesus!! I also give Bibles away regulars the need is made clear to me!! 👍🏼🙏🏼📖

I'm just a couple of months shy of 76, and I am NOT a techy lady! I also own several Bibles, though only one premium. I just lost my husband this last June so I am now completely alone. I pray that whoever comes to my little apartment to clear it of my personal belongings will be a Christian who will be guided by the Holy Spirit and place them where the Lord leads. That said, I am an avid note taker and underliner and highlighter, so some of them might not be pristine. :)

Thank you. One of the first books of the Bible I read through was Acts in the JB Philips translation. The church I was connected with for several years was a Samoan speaking church, so having a Bible in their language was useful. I also have Bibles in Maori, French, and Dutch. One advantage I see to having different translations and editions is that it can be both interesting and useful to compare how the translations differ. Sometimes, different nuances and perspectives can become apparent, which can be a blessing.

I still have my great grandmother's Lutherian Finnish bible from 1946, alot of them were actually printed in Michigan.

I appreciate your transparency about there being even a smidgen of materialism. I often contemplate how a financially solvent christian could chase dopamine through a "holy" compulsion to "buy" premium bibles and then have a gripping compulsion to drop another 4 bills to rebind it. Poverty definitely mitigates that compulsion.

I was wondering about the idolatry issue too. You seem like a kid in a candy store with Bibles but you seem to be quite a reasonable and reasoning person so I assume that you keep it under control. Congratulations! So thankful for your channel as a great resource, and also just as a representation of loving the Word of God! I wonder what your suggestion might be for a Bible rebinder who would be the best option for my situation. I use ONE Bible as my personal study and time-in-the-Word Bible. It is the CSB Apologetics Study Bible. This is the Bible that has journeyed with me as I went from a casual, inconsistent but frequent Bible reader to someone devoted to daily Bible study and someone who just absolutely can not live without it. This Bible is the one I have read every day for years and have poured into as God has poured into me. It is the first Bible I read every single page of, and it is the first Bible I have deeply studied every single page with commentary, exposition and language breakdown. This CSB is NOT a journaling Bible, but it became one. It is FULL of notes in the margins, full of extra pages glued and taped in. I have added maps and taped in extra paper folds for more note taking. So now it is stuffed full. It is twice the size it originally came as and the spine is having a hard time holding it all in. But no pages have ripped or fallen out. Most of the rebinds on your channel, and the ones I have seen elsewhere take bibles that are in normal condition, and are normal sized and rebound. So I am concerned that with the special case of all the added pages and stuff, it might not be a great Bible for some rebinders. I am thankful for your review on AA Bibles rebinding your family Bible! They seem to be the best option for restoration. I don’t want to have to go months without my Bible. I don’t travel anywhere without it because I don’t ever want to go a day without time in the word - so thinking of sending it somewhere for months at a time just isn’t a good option for me. What might your suggestion be for this case?

AA would do a great job. Another idea would be to reach out to one of the rebinders you've seen on my channel (that you like) and ask them if they can handle what you need to be done. Many of them have great skills, but they don't get asked to do a lot of "TLC" work.

Hey Tim I know I'm kinda late on the entry but I could really use a smaller yet legible Bible for my sling. I've tried fitting my NLT Thinline into it before I go out to evangilize in my neighborhood but whenever I take it out, some of the corners get bent, both cover and page. I'd also rather use That than the NKJV because though it's small enough to fit properly, when I tried to read some scripture I could barely get through it. That's why I would much rather have that ESV Badalassi Carlo so I can actually read it for myself when I'm alone. Please help🙏
