The fact that you say "the total cost of that Bible..." tells me that your "source" is not explicit or lacks the understanding of "cost" in publishing and thus has misled you. "Cost," to who? For what? As a publisher, I can attest that is impossible for a Bible like that.

As a Canadian, I enjoyed your initial balanced view of this particular Bible. It seems to have attracted polarizing views that are based primarily on people's political identity. The hate-fuelled "us" versus "them" rhetoric is becoming a world-wide problem. Your final words in today's video re the fruit of the Spirit are a good test of how we should act and speak. Thank you!

@@Rain-Dirt He's only polarizing to people because someone else told them he was. And you're one of their victims.
@Rain-Dirt15 күн бұрын
@ I argue for the contrary. To ignore the effect this man has is to be an idiot. I will tell you this, I did not start paying attention to him at the start of his political carreer. And quite frankly, you're trying to downplay the reflection of a weakness/poison humanity has to deal with for millenia which has caused much conflict. Here's the truth. If we are to believe your words, Trump and people like him will become dictators and allowed to profit as much as they want from the people who need service the most. And you're basically giving the attitude of "do nothing" because he's not as much of a threat at all. Stupidity and narcissism with power, is like glorifying a bully at high school. It's not good for anyone and people are going to suffer for it. Trump is easily comparable with how Mussolini handled things. Same sort of speech, narcissism, misogynic attitude, hating of minorities, ideas of grandiose plans (of f.e. expansion and becoming Rome 2.0), boasting (and lying about) selfimage and snowflake attitude. With Trump you can add selfenrichment without regard of the poor, but at least Trump won't want people to be exterminated, at least not directly. He does not believe in war, but not for the same reason I do not like war. He does not know what it means to sacrifice for other people. And that person is going to sit once again in the Oval Office. No sir, you are also part of the victims, but in a different way.

That's my thought as well. It's too big of an opportunity to be missed that could not be used as a selling point, if it actually was printed in the USA. If anyone has watched you very long they should know you were just being objective about the material makeup of this Bible. It is what it is & as always I think you did a good job reviewing this. As you said we can all agree to disagree on nonessential things. I personally think if you are sticking wholeheartedly to not adding them Bibles should be text only (no presentation page no index, no study Bibles just the scripture then have a company as they do sell a commentary to go with it). I say that as a person who owns many study Bibles, and two “Patriotic Bibles” the two I own simply weave in text & other Christian influences on our founding & history. Much like the C S Lewis Bible weaves in some of his writings & the Spurgeon Bible does. At the end of the day we don’t have to see eye to eye on it all. But people should not be calling into question Tim’s integrity & is hope anyone who has watched him over time truly knows better.

As far as "patriotic Bibles" go, the one I've found that's actually tasteful is the _Faith and Liberty Bible_ from the American Bible Society. It focuses on the impact that the Bible has had on various aspects of American thought without being heavy-handed in its patriotism or dishonest about the range of beliefs (and disbeliefs) among prominent American figures who took inspiration from the Bible.

Another great video. I do note that the objective nature of your original review was clear, at least to this years-long fan of your channel. The only point with which I differ is that I do find the omission of the Eleventh through Twenty-Seventh Amendments telling - not (and here I agree with your comments) that this was intentional or rejecting of the substance of any of the Amendments, but that it showed an utter disregard for, and lack of familiarity with, the Constitution of the United States. What use is an incomplete copy of any document? It seems clear whoever put this together just wanted to tuck in some of that patriotism stuff, and didn't even know or care enough to get it right. This does have the simple virtue of showing equal disrespect both to the Holy Bible and to the Constitution of the United States. And now for our fellow fans of the Constitution: the Twenty-Seventh Amendment was ratified on May 7, 1992. Who knows, without looking it up, who wrote the Twenty-Seventh Amendment?
@MAMoreno6 ай бұрын
I would suspect that the other amendments were left out because they aren't directly associated with the Founding Fathers in everyone's minds, even though the 11th and 12th Amendments are from the John Adams presidency and should still count. Of course, those two amendments pointed out faults in the original Constitution, and the whole point of this endeavor is to present an uncritical view of the nation's founding. (Thus, the Reconstruction Amendments are certainly too problematic to include: they acknowledge some very serious problems in early American society!)

i didnt know who, since i am canadian, but having now looked it up and its fascinating the details behind it, (wont say as to not give away to others the answer) but OH BOY, yaaaaa no wonder, because that individual did indeed warn that a person such as trump would come around vying for the office of the president. honestly without looking it up, id have never have guess who wrote it given it was ratified in 1992. i had guessed a certain presidential candidate/rival of Trumps, but the correct answer is fascinating to learn.

I didn't even notice any issues with this. I thought it was fine since King James made a version. I thought it was nice that Trump was bringing attention to the WORD. I'm still not sure how to feel about this. Because Trump selling this Bible could have brought a lot of people to JESUS. Those people might not have read the Bible, but since Trump made it and they look up to him, they bought it to support him. And then after reading for a bit, they might have given their life to JESUS. I was hopeful that it wasn't a bad thing. I'm not sure now though. Edit: I agree that the constitution and declaration of independence should not be in the Bible. King James never put English law in the Bible. Only the laws and commandments GOD gave us. ❤️

What would interest me is to write the makers of this Bible and ask them if they are planning to make a genuine leather version. I like the concept of supporting a moment in history to a win for religion, particularly Christianity in the USA, which is what this really is about to me, why just a generic better-priced genuine leather can't substitute for this special edition. How many times people pay to have commemorative items from special events, fork over good money just for the commemorative items? I see this Bible as the same kind of thing; all the same personally as a certain price point I just want leather particularly from experience how pu leather bibles I have just start flaking too soon. While one can have the cover replaced, it defeats the purpose of the embossed messages. Sometimes this may move a company to make a better version. I would want to call to task the makers of this Bible to offer leather even for commemorative value. I like the whole concept, though. This pu leather, if it were $30 less I would definitely get it as I like this moment in history it represents; maybe the price will drop.

Hello I'm new to your channel. This will be my first time trying to purchasing a Bible . the problem I'm having is finding one I can understand . I'm looking for something with the red lettering that God speaks enlarged print. If you can give me a couple of suggestions thank you again for your video.

The bible is read under more than one flag and the flag is flown by more than one religion. This is an insult to both.

Pretty much agree. I DO NOT like political/patriotic Bibles or those endorsed by certain pastors. I have owned and disposed of such. They are embarrassing. It IS too bad that the quality was horrible, though.

@@pkmcnett5649 yes I agree. For those that want this and paid good money in a hard economy they should have at least gotten something reasonable.

The American documents added are not intertwined with God's Word. Also, I own the beautiful "The Word-In-Life Study Bible" Copyright 1996, Thomas Nelson Publishers- NKJV. It is so filled with extras- making it 2455 pages. The extra content-just like the extras in the Bible you just reviewed again, have made no changes to the actual Word. I said in a comment I made earlier that the KJV writers did the best they could to bring us God's Word in a way it could be carried and understood. Versions since then (for the most part) have brought God's Word to a place of somewhat better understanding. However, when I go back to the original Greek-Hebrew-Aramaic, there are great differences that I find in my study time. With that said, I agree concerning the quality- cheap. I have my thoughts about made in China- I think it was, simply because of the quality. I own it- probably would not buy it if I had to do it over- yet some people buy Trump bobble dolls- I buy Bibles. Just saying- Thanks for the updated review-
