Wow, you’re amazing. What a crazy unexpected way to lose your mobility but you are absolutely overcoming it. I wouldn’t be where you are if something like that happened to me, I’m so impressed with you, your outlook on life and your sheer determination.

You are absolutely inspiring. When you said you wouldnt trade the last two years for anything, i cant help but self reflect and feel shame in my ability to be grateful. You're appreciation for life is beyond beautiful. Thanks for existing and reminding those such as myself that life is shorter and much more a gift then we realize, we gotta live it up and learn to find the best in everything. Thank you, sincerely.

Dude I feel like 2022 was the worst year. I got injured at work in March 2022 and found out it's permanent later in the year after a shit ton of physical therapy. I was a machinist for 4 years, and now I'm struggling to find a desk job to pay for medical and insurance bills. Though, the worst part was when people say that I'm too young to have this happen to me. Like yeah maybe I am, but it happened, you saying that adds absolutely nothing. I started college this year for psychology, and it's gonna be a long road, but I'm glad I started it. I can't imagine what this is like, or how difficult this has been for you, but I think I know how you feel. Having a chronic disability is awful, and having it this early in life is just a twist of the knife. I don't know your story or journey, but I'm glad you seem to be happier now than you were earlier. Godspeed to you and everyone else dealing with cosmically cruel shit like this

Also, you saying "I wouldn't trade it for anything" resonates with me pretty deeply. Going through something like this definitely tempers your mind. Makes you start looking at the world, and more importantly, people, differently. Empathy is largely missing from today's society and going through your own personal hell(s) really opens your eyes to what other people are going through as well.

So it wasn't a spinal stroke? Unfortunately things like this seem to be surprisingly common with heart surgeries and procedures. I had a spinal stroke below my spinal injury (nor surgery related) but I met two others in the spinal ward who were there after heart surgery. One was a stroke and the other they didn't seem to know exactly why - which is similar to your case, it sounds like.

Hello, I am an occupation therapist and work stroke patients. The best method for regaining sensory function and neuromuscular function I use is intense and deep tactile stimulation. That means using my hands or different kind of brushes to tap on the body part. Starting with low intensity, then increasing it. I stop once the skin is really red. Jesus please help her. Amen

How did heart surgery lead to paralysis? A stroke? Position during surgery?
