The Lord YHWH has convicted me that tattoos are not for me! Today everyone gets tattoos and whether or not someone is doing it for reasons that are not specified in the Bible, I want to make a difference, The Lord has called us to BE DIFFERENT! The Lord says that we are a royal priesthood set apart for Him and therefore I will act so and be obedient to reach holiness! Blessings to all Shabbat Shalom and Chodesh Tov!

No tattoos or cuttings for the dead The ritual of cutting oneself for the dead is a common pagan practice in many cultures and is strictly forbidden. We are reminded of the Ba’al prophets on Mount Karmel who contended with Eliyahu and cut themselves trying to appease their falsely worshipped Ba’al. Cutting for the dead is a form of ancestral worship in trying to bring the strength of the dead ancestor into one’s own body - a custom practiced in many rural cultures to this day, and in fact ancestralism is one of the main forms of worship throughout the continent of Africa as many tribes worship their dead ancestors and cut themselves in rituals in the hope of enticing the ancestral spirits to bring fertility and blessing. Tattoos speak of marking one’s flesh with a form of writing of words or graphics and many pagan religions encourage the tattooing of their deities they worship upon their bodies. Sadly, we even see how tattooing one’s self has become such an accepted practice all over the world, that while not being done for any direct form of worship; as many say they do it for fun, what we must realize is that tattoos are strictly forbidden! Many churches allow this practice and many even encourage it as they have their own leaders overhauled with tattoos while it is clearly forbidden by Yahweh: 'And do not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor put tattoo marks on you. I am Yahweh. (Leviticus 19:28) The phrase ‘tattoo marks’ is written as follows in Hebrew - uketobeth ka’aka - which comes from the two root words: 1) kethobeth - Strong’s H3793 which means, ‘impression, inscription, mark, tattoo’ and this comes from the primitive root verb kathab - Strong’s H3789 which means, ‘to write, decree, inscribe, record, write down’. And 2) qaaqa - Strong’s H7085 which means, ‘an incision, imprint, tattoo, mark’. Tattoos are a kind of graven image or desecration of the body which is the Temple of Yahweh. Which would also violate the second commandment as well: "You do not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of that which is in the skies above, or which is in the land beneath, or which is in the waters under the land, (Exodus 20:4) The body is not ours to deface; it is the Dwelling Place of Elohim: Do you not know that you are a Dwelling Place of Elohiym and that the Spirit of Elohiym dwells in you? If anyone destroys the Dwelling Place of Elohiym, Elohiym shall destroy him. For the Dwelling Place of Elohiym is set-apart, which you are. (1 Corinthians 3:16-17) The body is not ours to deface; it is the Dwelling Place of Elohim. The origin of the tattoo is associated with paganism, demonism, Baal worship, shamanism, mysticism, heathenism, cannibalism and many other pagan beliefs. Tattooing has never been connected with believers in Yahweh or Messiah Yahushua. There is not one instance in the Scriptures were the people of Yahweh marked carved images into their skin! Some Christians and others will say well that is just in the "Old" Covenant. The problem with that is that Yahweh clearly says that we are to do as exactly as the children of Yisra'el did, within reason (for example no temple so there are certain things we cannot do because a temple would be required to do so.). However, everything else we are to do as they did: 'And when a stranger sojourns with you, or whoever is among you throughout your generations, and would make an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to Yahweh, as you do, so he does. 'One law is for you of the assembly and for the stranger who sojourns with you - a law forever throughout your generations. AS YOU ARE, so is the stranger before Yahweh. (Numbers 15:14-15) A side note, this is the exact same chapter that we are reminded to wear tassels: "Speak to the children of Yisra'el, and you shall say to them to make tzitziyot on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue cord in the tzitzit of the corners. "And it shall be to you for a tzitzit, and you shall see it, and shall remember all the commands of Yahweh and shall do them, and not search after your own heart and your own eyes after which you went whoring, so that you remember, and shall do all My commands, and be set-apart unto your Elohiym. (Numbers 15:38-40) So if the children of Yisra'el are to wear tassels guess what we are all to do, wear tassels. Yahweh did not make separate rules for His natural and adopted children! As a believer, YOU are a part of Yisra'el...and Yahweh told them: I give you good instruction: Do not forsake my Torah" (Proverbs 4:2). And Paul reiterated this when he said: Do we then nullify the Torah through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Torah. (Romans 3:31) If you are still unconvinced that any of the above applies to you, then consider this: Tattooing, in addition to being disobedient, is idolatrous because it displays a permanent image on your body. Even if you "tattoo for Jesus" you are marking yourself with an image - an image of what you or the tattoo artist THINK He might look like! Since we do not know what Yahushua looks like, we cannot realistically carve an image of Him into our bodies! Yahweh told us very clearly and explicitly that we are to have no other mighty ones before Him, as He alone is supreme. The Bible expressly commands believers to: (1) Remain unspotted from the world: Clean and undefiled religion before the Elohiym and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. (James 1:27) (2) Keep back from of wickedness: Keep back from every form of wickedness. (1 Thessalonians 5:22) (3) Come out from among them and be separate from the world: Therefore, "Come out from among them and be separate, says Yahweh, and do not touch what is unclean, and I shall receive you. "And I shall be a Father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me, says Yahweh the Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:17-18) We, therefore, have the responsibility to obey Yahweh's commands and abstain from worldly associations, pastimes, or habits - not just out of duty but because we love Him and have a living relationship with Him. "If you love Me, you shall guard My commands. (John 14:15) This includes Tattooing of any kind. The way we show our love for Him or edifying Him is by doing what He asks us to do and listening to what He has told us NOT to do. Compassion, and peace, and love be increased to you.

@@thomassmithson5795 If one has a tattoo and has come into the faith with that, I would say welcome brother. Why? Because they have accepted Yahweh's love through His Son Yahushua who died for their sins. And I would pray for them while they do walk in this faith. Evil for evil...reviling for reviling.. These things we must set aside! Bury them! Our brother is a companion of Yahweh! So what if he isn't perfect..no one is there are sins I have struggled with, but I also had to stop doing that sin and I would gently with love tell that person with a tattoo to not continue in that sin as the Father above tells us in His scriptures teach us to do: 1John 3:11 - For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 23 - And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Yahushua the Messiah and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 1John 4:7 - Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of Elohim; and everyone who loves is born of Elohim and knows Elohim. 1John 4:11 - Beloved, if Yahweh so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 - No one has seen Yahweh at any time. If we love one another, Elohim abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 2John 1:5 - And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. 1Peter 2:17 - Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear Elohim. Honor the king. 1Peter 4:8 - And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins." 1John 3:18 - My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. Leviticus 19:18 - You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself: I am Yahweh. Hope this helps may Yahweh have compassion, and peace, and love be increased to you

You said “the body is not ours to deface.” How do you feel about cosmetic surgery? People who get tattoos believe they are improving their appearance not defacing it. Same can be said for those getting cosmetic surgery. Specifically someone born with a birth defect that is not life threatening and does not effect quality of life at all other than being unsightly. Should that person just live with it or do you believe it’s ok for them to change their appearance through cosmetic surgery? If so, how does it differ from someone getting a tattoo as long as the tattoo is not for the dead or any other pagan god worship?

Another point in reference to wearing tzitzit: Zechariah 8:23: "Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days ... ten men from all nations and languages will take hold of the skirt (edge of the garment where tzitzit are attached) of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you." How will they take hold of the Jews' tzitziot, if they are not wearing them, or are wearing them tucked into their clothing where they can't be seen? They are hence not only for US to remember God's commandments, but also as a witness to OTHERS that we have chosen to keep God's commandments ... which should be reflected by our behavior, but often falls short. God promised blessings for obedience to His commandments, which would serve as a light to the Gentiles. Would you take off your wedding ring when you are in public...a symbol to remind you that you are in COVENANT with one special person, and have sworn to be faithful to that one person?

The word translated as “dead” is the Hebrew word nephesh, which technically means “soul,” but the historical context, that is, what the pagan cultures surrounding the Hebrews were practicing relating to tattoos and piercings. The historical context relating to pagan practices drives the translation as dead instead of soul.

@waegnw1793
@waegnw1793 2 жыл бұрын
During cremation, the bones do not burn. They, instead, must by ground to dust. In the Torah, the scolars (in this case) the Rabbis consider creamation "Wrong" as there are passages in that Holy book that describe where the One God of Israel make use of the bones of the departed in the process of the resurrection. Therefore, all the Rabbi scolars that I have encountered strongly advise against cremation!

One point to consider..the narrator said that "cremation is not a form of worship of Yahweh"... I dont agree because we are taught that everything we do should be done for the glory of God. Everything we do is a form of worship but of coarse thats my view. Cremation is a cheap way to do a funeral. For some people money is a problem so I can't be the judge of the decision they make..everything we choose we all will give an account to God for our own decisions and that I believe is the most important thing to remember. Praise the Lord.

@@Cherub72 And what happened after Abraham had faith in YHWH? He received grace, what happened after he received grace? Abraham then, and ONLY then did he received instructions on righteous living (such as the commandment of circumcision). One must first believe in YHWH, then he must be justified, then he will be sanctified. Just look at the people of Israel during the time of Moses, first they had faith in their Elohim by painting the blood of a lamb on their doorposts, then as they fled Egypt and cross the seas, they found grace when YHWH freed them from bondage, and then, and ONLY then did they receive the torah in the wilderness. So why didn't Abraham get God oral laws right away, because he had to have had faith in YHWH and receive grace before Abraham and his household could be sanctified. Abraham kept all of God's oral laws not to be saved, but because he was save by grace through faith.

Abraham had faith in him from the beginning. When do you say he gained his faith? He smashed his fathers idols and followed a strange voice into the wilderness not knowing where he would go. That was faith and he had it the whole time. He was given instruction for circumcision and really not much else. Don't you know Jacobs own sin who was after Abraham. He also didn't bless his first born. If you seen the blessings to his sons you would say "I don't want these blessings" so how can you say they were given an oral torah when they weren't following any torah?? Jacob who was way after Abraham had no Mitzvot, oral or written. Circumcision was it. If you think Elohim, who sees the end form the beginning, is waiting around for us to prove ourselves then you don't know him all that well. The only reason Abraham was tested by placing his son on the alter is because Elohim himself planned on sending us a sacrifice and this needed to be done for the story to pass down, to understand.

_Well, something is amiss. Tattooing and cutting was not just a pagan practice representing emotional grief for the dead (Lev.19:28-29, Deut.14:1-2), it was also a practice done for the worship of Baal (1Kings 18:26-28). "His children" were warned NOT to learn the ways of the heathen. And then way over in the New Testament in Rom. 12:1-2, "His children" are told to present their bodies as a living, set-apart (holy), and acceptable sacrifice unto Him. To be set-apart from the world and not mimmick nor conform to it. Our heavenly Father WARNS not to add to, change, take away/omit from His word (Rev.22:18-19). _So the answer is YES. When we do opposite of His word... we SIN!! Choose you this day, blessings or cursings. _When we seek Him and HIS truth... we will find it. Shalom.

I will start by saying that I agree we are to obey God's law, not to be saved, but because we are saved. "If you love me, keep my commandments" John 14:15. Why do people believe that they need to sacrifice in order to keep the feasts? We keep the Sabbath without having to sacrifice. "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:"1Co_5:7 . He is the offering for our sin (Isa 53:10). The Lamb of God (John 1:29,36) Christ our passover took on himself the sins of men.( Heb 9:28) " one sacrifice for sins for ever," "one offering" Heb 10:12,14. Dan 9:27 first part "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease" Messiah was cut off and the veil was torn. no more sacrifices, the Lamb of God was the ultimate sacrifice. He instituted the Lord's Supper as a remembrance of it. that is how we celebrate. "Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him." By Faith, or by Works of the Law? 1O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. 2Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? 3Are you so foolish? Christ is our passover lamb, there's no need to celebrate rehearsals.

So there is no reason to celebrate yom teruah? The festival of trumpets, which is the rehearsal of his return as king. Although a case could be made for not celebrating passover because he is our passover lamb, a case could also be made for keeping it when Yeshua says do this in remembrance of me, he was sitting at passover meal

@@kingdomtimes361 Correct no need, Christ is the fulfillment of it all. The "Passover" meal is the Lord's Supper which was instituted a day before the Passover.

The passover meal had been kept since the time of moses. Brother read the front of the book it is written by the same God. Yeshua came to speak the words His father sent him to speak not another doctrine. Who is Yeshuas father? it is YHWH and He changes not. The "new covenant" does not change the torah. It writes YHWHs Torah upon your heart and the holy spirit is the power to walk in Torah. Jeremiah 31:31-33 Hebrews 8:10
