@@Jontohil2 I have to agree that the Kunai is definitely what makes the dead ringer combo annoying tho. The DR by itself isnt even good, just “annoying,” imo. Sure you can get out of situations but if you used a normal cloak you’d never be IN those situations where you need to DR out, not to mention that you probably couldn’t get a stab before or after the DR

A quick question. what is your opinion on the diamondback & kunai (both separately and together in a build). I think the diamondback and kunai build is honestly op. Its a build that entirely rewards you for getting backstabs and gives you the option of switching your strategy on the fly. See a pyro, SPY HAS A GUN WITH GARENTEED CRITS, AND A KNIFE THAT MAKES YOU TANKY!

I mean they actively work against each other. You either go get the stab for extra health and guaranteed crits or you use up your guaranteed crits to get a kill.

@@Geario123 they don’t go against each other. If you get a backstab and you need to fight to survive, then the hp you get plus the crits are enough for you to survive. You can go from a backstabbing spy to an op gun spy on the fly if you need to

As much as I say spy has a gun, the Diamondback is straight up overpowered. (Look at its more balanced counterpart, the Fronteir Justice)

@@Jontohil2 I really just don't see it as much. I get more use out of stock and the ambassador because I'll always be able to get consistent damage with them. Also the diamondback kills things in 2 hits with a crit which means one of the crits is wasted on an already low health enemy. I think people just over value how much they get with the diamondback.

​@@Geario123 Kind of my take. The Ambi is so much better for so many things IMO Need to kill a sniper? You can use the Ambi off spawn without having to find a backstab. Destroying a nest? You can spam the Ambi without worrying of wasting crits. Only place it fails out is against something like heavy, and even then, he's best avoided or just stabbed.

I've been a fan of your channel for a long time, and I love your in-depth coverage of different loadouts in TF2. I'm a Spy main, and I'm always on the lookout for new loadouts to try out in-game. I was wondering if you could do a video on some of the best loadouts for Spy in TF2. I know that there are a lot of different weapons and accessories that can be used to great effect, but I'm not always sure which ones are the most effective in different situations. I've seen some of your other videos, and I think you have a great understanding of how different weapons and accessories can work together to create a really powerful loadout. I would really appreciate it if you could make a video on some good loadouts for Spy, as I'm sure many other Spy players in the community would as well. Thank you for all the great content you've created so far, and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future.

honestly, if i were to change anything about it to keep the identity, but take away the "get out of jail free" aspect , it would be this: -user is invulnerable on use while cloaked -hp is reduced to 1 on use -cannot take health and ammo pack while cloaked -cloak cannot be deactivated manually -cloak can be recharged by picking ammo post-clock now it no longer has a broken synergy with the l'étranger/kunai bypassing each other's weakness, and if anyone just notices you, you're dead, it's meant to get away from a bad situation, but currently it allows you to stay in close proximity to try again. Not this time however, either you go back to your team to heal and recharge back, or you die Great video btw, i'm impatient to see your opinion on how to change it :)

The dead ringer never awarded you to try and fake your death, to rework it I’d make it so you receive the resistance and speed for different time periods based on how low health you were when you activated it

Hey! Thanks for answering my question! I'm surprised you went with the C&D instead of stock watch, but I guess it makes sense. (Not to say that the C&D isn't good, I use it more than stock these days, but I also enjoy playing a *ton* of payload defense, so it's kinda justified there.) If you want another question, (for a part two maybe hmm IDK?) what are your thoughts on the post-nerf amby? It's a fairly divisive weapon amongst spies I've talked to, between being a straight downgrade to stock that shouldn't have been nerfed, to a well-placed and strong sidegrade that rewards practice and a steady hand. Curious to see your thoughts (If you do a part two, no pressure whatsoever.)

3:14 no, that limp bisque isn't a long range option. at long range you'll get roughly 20-25 damage a shot. that's too animic to be usefull. i think they meant something akin to the old amby (still hate that it got nerfed because some skilled players could snipe with it.

I think the Dead Ringer should make you totally invincible, but only be usable if the attack you pop the Dead Ringer on would've killed you otherwise. I'd have Spy say a "no" voiceline if you try on an attack that doesn't kill, as if Spy totally could use the Dead Ringer like that but doesn't want to because it'd be cheap. This is for funni reasons. This is a nerf overall. Dead Ringer escapes are pretty free already, and only being able to pop if you're right about to die adds a huge risk and a need for good timing and situational awareness that the current Dead Ringer doesn't have. I think it might also be fair to scale back Jungle Inferno's nerfs if we implement this change. I'd probably not remove them entirely, but I'd probably make the penalties less harsh since spammability is hard enough if you can only use it if the next attack will kill you. I think this solves a lot of the Dead Ringer's problems while keeping the core idea the same.
