That was great! I think the same way you do in regards to traveling to other countries now and saving the US for when I'm older. Love the packing zoom idea. Cause lord knows I need help sometimes. Here’s a question. It’s kind of personal . But I have to ask- as a fellow regular person- how do you afford all of these extravagant trips on a hairdressers/ teachers salary? Can you give savings or trips on a budget tips? That would be really helpful. Thanx!

I'd love to hear more about your travels, especially since they are mostly "solo" (sorry Brian!). As a new widower, I want to travel, but it will be just me, perhaps joining some tours and taking a few days on my own at the beginning or end of trip. Any help with tips for planning, safety etc., would be appreciated! Thank you.

I’m sorry for your loss. A “solo” group trip is a great way to travel solo for the first time. Navigating the airport and not having familiar faces is a good first step, but making new friends on a tour. I’m doing a tour like that this year! I do have a solo Q&A video too!

Loved this, I've said it before but ya'll are so cute. Enjoy learning to dive. My advise - relax and enjoy it. The first time there is a lot to take in and learn and it can be overwhelming and a lot of people decide they hate it. Give it a chance. I knew the first time I dropped down into the ocean that this was for me. It was less than great conditions - in West Palm Beach Florida with 5 to 6 foot seas, a ripping current and I was proving you can throw up in your regulator. Despite all that, I loved it from the very first.

Love all of this! Advice about dress & cover. I wonder if it would be easier for you to get a light abaya to put on over your clothes rather than adapting all of your clothing. Just a thought! It’s very common to do that here in Qatar. Regarding scarves - look at Vela scarves. They are very light and can easily then be neck scarf or shawl and they roll super small. Happy to help you - or any subscriber! - with modest clothing for travelers. 🙏🏻❤️

Thank you so much for this! I’m already on the trip as I type this and my packing video for it will be out soon. It was hard for me to find a “plus size” abaya online because most of them were “one size” which did not fit me and I had to return them. I did end up doing a lot of flowy pants and short sleeve tees with some flowy kimono/open abayas. Hoping it will work well! ❤️ I’ve been some beautiful scarves and abayas in the airports and I can’t wait to shop too

If you ever come to Qatar or Saudi (moving there later this year!) - or anyone else - I would suggest using a tailor! Perfect size and not more expensive. Yes the sizing online is funky. Sounds amazing already! Can’t wait to watch. ❤️

If you can talk about the financial cost of traveling and how you can afford to travel multiple times internationally in one year. I went to my first European country last year and it still feels like I haven’t recovered financially from it. Some tips would be helpful! Love your videos btw. ❤
@ItsTheKellys
@ItsTheKellys 9 ай бұрын
I’m never recovered financially lol. I always have some sort of travel bill coming up! My best tip is finding everything as far in advance as possible and stick to a budget. I try to book with miles and points when I can, but I still pay for about 80% of my flights. I’m not that good of a travel hacker. My international flights are usually 300-800, and I refuse to pay more than that. I try to look on going or Scott’s cheap flights, but they are usually too “last minute” for me and I do my flights on Skyscanner. My hotels are usually as budget as budget can be, without being dirty and dangerous. I book exclusively on Expedia, and rack up points on there for free stays, and upgrades. I also use Rakuten to book there, to get cash back that way too. Where I spend the most money is tours probably. I’m not a huge foodie, and try to have one big meal a day on the road, and other little stops with food along the way (bakeries, food stands, etc) But I also really limit myself at home as much as I can. For the longest time, when I was a single mom, I sacrificed a lot of things to be able to travel. No cable, I didn’t have Internet for a while, and I thrifted a lot of my belongings.

I just purchased an OG Beis carry on ( I usually fly Southwest unless my company is paying for my travel) I’m turning 50 this month and want to do some international trips so I know I will need a smaller carryon, would you recommend the smaller Beis or another line for a carryon? Oh and I also got the Nomad lane Bento for my work trips( I have a 16 inch laptop- a lot of other bags only have room for a 15) thanks to your review and used your code

Sounds like you have some great stuff already, awesome! Glad I could help! For international travel, you could go with the smaller Beis, but it is still smaller than most international requirements and heavier than I would prefer. Currently my favorite is the Quince carry on! It’s under 6 pounds, doesn’t have a scratch on it, and has worked well! It’s also very inexpensive! I have a few Quince videos if you want to see. Hi , question here. Not sure if you have already done a video on this. But have you packed a luggage or a purse for festivals/concerts ? Just curious to see how you would pack for that. Like what would you feel is needed for festivals/concerts and what you think is not necessary .
@ItsTheKellys
@ItsTheKellys 9 ай бұрын
I have not… like packing a bag to travel to a festival? To be honest, I have never been to one. So I will definitely need everybody’s guidance. I try to really pack for experiences that I have done.
@jasminebounds
@jasminebounds 9 ай бұрын
Yes. I was just curious if you have done that. Some people like myself go to concerts/festivals, bringing a lot of things . Some are necessary and some that's not really needed that take up space. So I was just wondering if you have experience with that yet. I know with concerts I tend to overpack my stadium purse and never use half of the things. Guess I pack the purse overthinking it. Not using much of anything. A panic , just in case packer . So I have trouble packing my luggage because it's just full of stuff. Including bringing clothes that's not needed.
@ItsTheKellys
@ItsTheKellys 9 ай бұрын
@jasminebounds4472 well, let’s think about it. For a concert with a small purse, all you really need is your phone, a small wallet, and maybe a lipstick touch up, or car keys/hotel keys. That’s really it. If traveling for the concert, have the outfit you want, and maybe a backup one. Otherwise do the usual capsule wardrobe like my normal packing videos :) Hope that helps a bit. Just imagine yourself in the situation, realistically, and pack what you need.

@ItsTheKellys
@ItsTheKellys 9 ай бұрын
Personal item, like packing them ONLY in a personal item, and hacking it? Take off luggage for sure. I actually did a kids packing video featuring them, and a backpack would fit on top if needed, however then it’s not hacking it and it’s a carry on/personal item. I know that my son constantly changed what he liked and if there were character prints, or prints of something he liked, and then he “got over it”, as kids do, he wouldn’t want to use it again. I’d just let them pick a color they like, and then can grow with it. How to pack kids for vacation | Take Off Luggage kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5iqd5-ghdVqZq8

The only time I ever “extended my stay” was when I lost my passport and couldn’t fly home at my scheduled time. I had to pay for a different one way flight home once the situation was fixed. Hi Lauren! It’s a little harsh to say that Solagaard luggage is not worth it. My sister in law loves her original limited edition earth and moon. I travel with her with my Monos and I love my luggage as much as she loves her Sologard. Like you I don’t care for their closet system; I have a Tropicfeel which uses the same type of compression. I just don’t have the patience or I do it wrong. I still use my packing cubes either way;But I see my sister in law used her luggage over and over for years with no issues & still room in suitcase and usually packed more than me! they look fabulous and they’re zipless. Well, I prefer my Monos and BÉIS because of their compression…
@ItsTheKellys
@ItsTheKellys 9 ай бұрын
It’s just my personal opinion. I have tried “shelves” in luggage before and I think it’s just a gimmick that excites people, and more often than not, they realize they can pack better the old fashioned way. (Coming from people I’ve talked to) It was just answering a question with my own opinion, and I get asked about it several times a day, which is why I put it in the video.
