Phase 4 was clearing the table and setting up new characters. It's an important part of storytelling. You don't put the best match of the night on right before the main event - you bring things back down, rest the level and then you're able to bring people back up. It's necessary. Whether or not people like the characters or the output of Phase 4 is a different discussion, but the purpose of it is indisputable.

I like how they handled the face shield, and I feel like them basically telling us Scott might die just increases my suspicions of Hank Pym possibly dying instead because in the comics he’s the main ant man not Scott and his death basically forms the young avengers but they could kill either ant man just think it would be a cool way to keep Paul Rudd

Antman has always been my favorite MCU hero, because he's the most relatable and most human IMO. And as a father, having been out of prison for past mistakes, and having a daughter, it touches deep. I'm glad phase 5 kicked off with the Big Bad finally appearing in Antman. He always played a vital role and is often overshadowed by the other avengers. And I love how Antman movies started from comedy to becoming something serious.

Considering Scott witnessed Tony Stark make the ultimate sacrifice to save the world at the cost of having no more time with his daughter Morgan it becomes even more understandable why Scott would be so motivated to get back the time he lost with Cassie; especially when considering the fact that Scott hasn't been present for most of his daughter's life since he did a prison bid and was trapped in the quantum realm for 5 years. Plus with Scott being an Avenger he could potentially die at any moment making every minute he has with his daughter that more precious to him.

3:08 Wasn't it obvious with all the origin stories for new heroes? The Avengers lost some heroes after Thanos, so why would anyone think the following movies would hit the road running, when the leaders were gone and their most powerful weapon broken? Steve retired himself. Tony, Gamora and Natasha died. Hulk messed up his arm pretty badly, and Thor was having a midlife crisis! Why on Earth would anyone think Phase Four would be Endgame level story telling? Mind blown! Phase Four was a reset, which is why it was slow, building to this. That was done by design because it was necessary to for this. Those who didn't like Multiverse of Madness, Love and Thunder or whatever might feel differently after the events of the next phase. All of these storylines are going to come to a head, and everything we saw was dropping nuggets about the Dynasty coming. Shang Chi's rings and Kamala's bangle are probably connected and are things that very likely belong to Kang. Are these treasures Scott stole from Kang and scattered across the Multiverse, keeping Kang from completing his goal?

Ant-man jumped from my number 4 most anticipated to my number 2. This trailer is 🔥. I liked both Ant-Man movies. The second one gets too much unnecessary hate imo. So if this movie is closing out the Ant-Man trilogy, a nice way to go against probably the most powerful villain yet in Kang. The biggest take away I want to see is how Quantumania will effect the rest of phase 5 heading into the next Avengers movies. I’m excited for all of this.

Not just that, Ant-Man is just the 6th titular character to have gotten their own trilogy in the MCU. Appropriately I might add, just after the Big Three, the Avengers, and Spider-Man. Also fun fact, Ant-Man is just the second trilogy to be directed by the same director of Peyton Reed. First was Spider-Man Home Trilogy by Jon Watts. Coming up will the the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, the third trilogy to be done by the same director of James Gunn. And the 7th trilogy in total of the MCU. Which is also coming out later this year, so back to back wrapping trilogies. Speaking of James Gunn, actually finally am excited for his take over the DC, hopefully he can make something of the DCU, give the characters their due, can’t wait to finally hear about his announcement.

MCU is designated taking place on earth 199999. Feige took the bullshit route in Dr. Strange by having earth 838 give the MCU earth the 616 designation. Feige is not Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Chris Claremont, or any of the legendary writers and artists who gave us this wonderful world and awesome stories.

I think I've reached the point of not caring anymore. I'm happy for those that are still hype and all, but I think I'm done with the MCU for now. Maybe in 10 years when its all done I'll give it a rewatch and go through it. I just didn't really feel anything, and the Ant-Man movies and character were always a favorite of mine.
