I was trying to follow along but I keep running into issues, is it because this video is before python 3 was integrated into Maya? and now I can't follow along with it?

never mind, I found out the reason was because for the print function it needs to be changed from print "test" to print("test") and the reload function won't work unless from importlib import reload was run inside the shelf button command
