Thanks for the video , it feels too easy to understand endocrinology the way you show it. Dr what do you think is the problem and what should the protocol be with this male 33 years old 175cm 19% bodyfat 83kg with blood results like this : FSH 2.9U/I LH 3.2 U/I Prolactin 169 miU/I Testosterone 10.80nmol/l SHBG 29.60 nmol/I Free test 0.217 nmol/I Oestradiol 45.9 pmol/I Albumin 46.8 g/I

Hi. You said cortisol is the ANTI-stress hormone? Because everywhere it's written as the 'stress hormone'.
@MedicosisPerfectionalis3 ай бұрын
When textbook write “stress hormone” they mean “anti-stress hormone”, i.e. a hormone that’s secreted during times of stress to help you cope with stress.

@@MedicosisPerfectionalis Thank you so much, I had that completely backwards. I suffer from somatotropin pituitary dwarfism with secondary hypothyroidism, hypogonadotropic and empty sella. Your videos are awesome and very descriptive and they help me understand a lot of what's going on with me. Keep it up.

Is it accurate to say that the anterior pituitary hormones are lipid soluble, and therefore they can cross the BBB easily, but the posterior pituitary hormones are water soluble, and therefore can only reach the bloodstream because the posterior pituitary is a circumventricular organ?
@OwayneKhoo933 ай бұрын
And how do the posterior pituitary hormones get there from the hypothalamus? Through neurons? What is that process called.
@MedicosisPerfectionalis3 ай бұрын
No...Most of the pituitary hormones are water-soluble.

@@MedicosisPerfectionalis Was trying to figure out how the anterior pituitary hormones got to the bloodstream if the anterior pituitary had a BBB. They get secreted through the median eminence, which is a circumventricular organ. Thanks.
