As a big fan of many EA titles over the years, they have gone to shit. Mass Effect Andromeda, Battlefield 5, Anthem, all buggy, unfinished and expensive. A fall from grace. EA used to mean quality - Bad Company 2, Mass Effect 2, Need for Speed Underground, now look at the crap they release...

Andromeda was fine tbh, yeah, the graphics weren't good, but gameplay was and campaign was decentntly intruging imo, with a single player game with 100h campaign, it was worth playing. Its these always-online, live service games with BS microtransactions that suck, anthem has great gameplay, but the slow trickle of conternt and limited customization and charging obscene ammount of money for it is absurd in a 60 euro game. I blame Blizzard for some of these trends tbh, always online wasn't nearly as prevalent until they decided to make Diablo III online only to prevent pirating it, everyone started doing it too and worse, their servers were usually crap compared to Blizzard ones or were shut down soon-ish, unlike Blizzard, who atleast supports their servers. And I don't know who started putting tons of overpriced microtransactions into full price games, but certainly after Overwatch and its financial success, more companies weren't shying away from puting free-to-play microtransaction models into full price games...

That's EA for ya. They make the developers think "Oh, we can make some good shit." And then project after project, they begin to butt in more and more, because they know you can't say shit to their terrible ideas. At this point, they should literally just quit. Every single BioWare employee. Save up their money, get GOOD investors, and start all over. Because they've been losing the faith that they had pre-Mass Effect 2. All of our faith. And it's because it's hate directed at them, because people are naive and aren't blaming EA. All BioWare is right now, are marionette puppets with EA pulling the strings. Those people aren't allowed to make what was once their IP their way. Seriously, their fall began when ME3 had MP. BioWare can always make amazing stories, but they can't make good MP games. But EA wants it, so they HAVE to add it in so EA can take all the revenue. Say what you want about some companies, say what you want about Acti-Blizz, but they're still fuckin' a couple MILES from where EA's at. They're beginning to fuck up, but they'll never be the colossal fuck-up that is EA. And hopefully, the employees of BioWare will begin to save up their money so they can start anew. They can basically become like Obsidian. They broke away from Bethesda, and I hope BioWare can break away from EA.

The problem is that the casual audience has no patience. Everyone wants to experience everything right now. That leads to preordering and buying broken games en masse. Everyone complains but no one (not enough at least) is willing to wait it out. I personally don't preorder anything but that's because I'm an asshole who will wait until the game is in proper running condition and cost less than the $60 plus pricetag. I don't need to be in the loop with everyone else. If the game is awesome it will still be awesome when they inevitably release a GOY edition with all the DLC for a fraction of the cost.
