@@cassiusdeici8302 after independence, India had a socialist (between capitalism and communism) government and had warm relations with east and west. Under Kruschev they began to enjoy very strong relations, offering infrastructural, military, and economic support as a fellow socialist nation. When India was supporting Bangladesh's independence war with Pakistan America, under Nixon, sent ships to discourage India from intervening against their ally and support the pakistani side, but the ussr sent ships and a nuclear submarine to block them - thus helping secure the victory of India's side, the freedom of Bangladesh, and helping end the genocide. @@cassiusdeici8302 The USSR and India's Relationship is why Russia and India are great friends. The USSR supported India infrastructure wise and while India never officially became a Communist Government, they were Socialist as another commentor stated, The USSR still aided them nonetheless. It goes way back as well, even under the times of Stalin, Stalin's USSR was one of the few nations that provided aid to India during the times of famine for India. Stating "papers can wait, hunger cannot" which, while ironic considering who said it, its still a noble act done by Stalin. Though it doesnt absolve the fact he was an asshole to his people 75% of the time. It goes even further into the Cold War, when Pakistan invaded India, no one was there to support India, alot of nations were either neutral or on the side of Pakistan. Not even America was there for India, yet the only one who was there was the USSR. Supporting India in the Bangladesh Independence War, Supporting India against Pakistan even. In India's eyes, the USSR was their closest ally that helped them, it makes sense why India isn't very trustful of the West and has one of the strongest friendships with Russia. Though don't mistaken India's loyalty to Moscow as a puppet state, India will and has always shown that even though they see Moscow as their greatest ally, they are not afraid to call Russia out on their bullshit in places like Ukraine. India was one of the few nations that genuinely experienced the nicer side of the Soviets and showed that the USSR wasnt an heartless genocidal empire. India may not have became Communist but it was one of the few nations that saw the nicer side of the USSR.

I was studying at the Faculty of Moscow at the time, and I watched all this very fearfully. We didn't know what would happen to us the next day. The fall of communism resulted in hell, because it was a horrible system for us who lived in a country without any privatization. To give you an idea, nobody knew how to use a check. If the companies we worked for were state owned, then who would be our boss from that day on? If the apartment we lived in belonged to the State, who owned it after the fall of the State? If I was born in a republic and moved to Russia, with the end of the USSR, would I have to go back to my home republic which had now become an independent country? Those were the questions we asked!

@@dickmcwood It was really hard. At the time the Russian Mafia bought everything, and the country plunged into a very violent time! I went to live in Berlin where I worked as a professor of European literature, but I followed everything on television. The USSR was a flawed country, but there was respect and patriotism! There were achievements for us to be proud of our country. @@YoungGagarinwas so flawed that it was the second economy in the world, the first army in the world, had an alliance in power equal to NATO, had influence on half the world, was technologically independent of the West, and the birth rate was constantly growing, which for the second economy of the world with equal rights for women and men , an atheistic state was very good. By the way, thanks to the market reforms, the USSR only became weaker and weaker (Kosygin's reforms, the abolition of artels, Gorbachev's reforms, the counter-revolution of 1953, the betrayal of the secret services of the USSR where the gray cardinal Andropov worked for the CIA). Therefore, one should not believe the propaganda US stamp, but figure it out yourself

@@Cominer-wh6nt I believe you must be from some country called NATO. Anyway, I was born in the USSR in 1964. I got to know the country from the inside, and not through books. Were Khrushchev's reforms necessary, or are you in favor of Stalin-era arbitrary arrests? You have presented various military data. The US is also a great military country, as was the USSR, but both have a lot of inequality and social problems. Yes, Gorbachev sold the USSR, but development cannot come at the expense of freedom of expression. Today, the US is in political chaos. Today, Russia, my country, is at war with no prospect of resolution. And the USSR is just past. Life in Russia today is financially more prosperous than in the Soviet era, what I emphasize is that in the Soviet era, at least at the time I live, we had more to be proud of, and we didn't worry about the future, because we were we were all socialists and we believed we always would be.
@Cominer-wh6nt10 ай бұрын
@@YoungGagarin So you lived at a time when gradual deficits began in the USSR due to the abolition of artels and the conduct of market relations on a socialist economy, which is not good and leads to a worsening of the situation. And in general, you should always and will always rely on documents, and not on your own feelings, which over time can be distorted by the brain over time and often they are not objective + propaganda of bourgeois countries at the expense of the USSR. And at the expense of Stalin: about 0.5% suffered from repression during his reign, and even under him there were the strongest achievements in the economy and the most rapid rise in the standard of living.Living in Ukraine, I will say that every year life was bad with us, but there were years when life was pretty good, but they passed and now (not even counting the war) life was bad, and now it’s generally terrible.

The Anthem of the Soviet Union, also known as the "State Anthem of the USSR," was the national anthem of the Soviet Union from 1944 until the dissolution of the USSR in 1991. The music for the anthem was composed by Alexander Alexandrov, and the lyrics were written by Sergey Mikhalkov and Gabriel El-Registan. The anthem went through different lyrical versions during its existence, reflecting the changing political and ideological landscape of the Soviet Union. The most well-known version of the Soviet anthem featured lyrics that praised the Communist Party, the Soviet state, and the accomplishments of the Soviet people. Here are the lyrics to this version: Russian: Союз нерушимый республик свободных Сплотила навеки Великая Русь. Да здравствует созданный волей народов Единый, могучий Советский Союз! English Translation: Unbreakable Union of freeborn Republics, Great Russia has welded forever to stand. Created in struggle by will of the people, United and mighty, our Soviet land! The Soviet Union, which was established in 1922, lasted until its collapse in 1991. The collapse of the USSR was a complex and multifaceted process. Several key factors contributed to its dissolution: 1. Economic Problems: The Soviet economy was struggling, with inefficiencies, shortages, and a lack of innovation. The centrally planned economic system was unable to keep up with the technological advancements and economic growth seen in Western countries. 2. Political Reforms: Mikhail Gorbachev, the General Secretary of the Communist Party, introduced a series of political reforms, including glasnost (openness) and perestroika (restructuring), in an attempt to revitalize the Soviet system. However, these reforms also unleashed a wave of political and social change that ultimately weakened the central authority of the Soviet government. 3. Nationalism and Ethnic Tensions: The USSR was a multinational state, with numerous ethnic groups and republics. Nationalism and ethnic tensions began to rise, with some republics seeking greater autonomy or independence from Moscow. 4. Economic and Social Challenges: The economic challenges, combined with social discontent, led to protests and strikes in various parts of the country. People were disillusioned with the Communist Party's rule. 5. Baltic States and Other Republics: In 1990-1991, the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania) declared their independence from the Soviet Union. Other republics followed suit, and the central government in Moscow struggled to maintain control. 6. August Coup: In August 1991, hardline members of the Communist Party attempted a coup against Gorbachev. The coup failed, but it further weakened the central government's authority. 7. Belavezha Accords: On December 8, 1991, leaders of three of the Soviet republics (Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus) signed the Belavezha Accords, effectively declaring the end of the Soviet Union and the creation of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). As a result of these factors, the Soviet Union officially ceased to exist on December 26, 1991, when the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union dissolved itself. This marked the end of the Soviet state and the beginning of the independent nations that emerged from its dissolution. The national anthem of the Soviet Union was replaced by new national anthems in the successor states, and the Russian Federation, inheriting the Soviet Union's seat at the United Nations, adopted a new national anthem with different music and lyrics.

@@spregged7231 A rather simple point of view Do not forget that this regime was not different from the average authoritarian regime And authoritarianism has been the way for most countries since the ancient era And, the USSR had an HDI of 0.920 in 1990 and a Gini Coefficient of around 0.273 in 1989, and mind you this was the time when the country was failing but free, so you can imagine how good the life of a citizen was in the 70s and the 60s. You can sum up life under Soviet Communism and now with this line: "In the Soviet Era, people had money to buy things with, but nothing to buy (lack of luxurious products in the USSR). Now, we can buy anything but have no money to buy them with." Education was free, most people got education Loans without interests were given to the people (bad idea imo, but they were communist so yeah) Healthcare and shelter was free The country had the world's most powerful military and created some of the smartest brains in the world. And this country overthrew their excessively repressive monarchy And then after Stalin, the CPSU ensured cold men like him and monsters like Lavrentiy Beria never ever climb the Soviet political hierarchy and instead remain as prisoners in arctic camps And after Stalin, mortality rates fell greatly as a result of the end of totalitarianism in the USSR. And also, any westerner could freely visit any part of the USSR if he/she wanted to, unlike places like North Korea where even parts of Pyongyang are off-limits. On the downside, the country was ridiculously corrupt since the mid-70s when Brezhnev got a bit too comfortable with power and was impractical on economics after Khrushchev Lenin, Khrushchev and Gorbachev remain as the only practical communist leaders out of the 8 leaders.

Change their lives once again? The 60s and 70s in the USSR were satirized for being exactly the same day after day. They’re lucky the change was as smooth as it was. People were surprised there wasn’t a war instead. Though for those who were alive during the Revolution and the Stalin years, it was definitely a crazy event. It also had pretty bad conditions to live in and not good healthcare in the slightst compared to usa, Just because its free dosnt mean its better. You could live way longer in the US unlike the soviet union where the life span is less.
