commenting because this video has literally lived in my head ever since i watched it months ago when it was posted T__T one of the only times youtube has blessed me with such a lovely new video. genuinely so beautiful and heart wrenching... i had been meaning to play signalis for a while prior to this, but this pmv boosted it to the very top of my "to-play" list (finished it a while ago btw; loved it, came back to this video to agonize even more)... and even still, without much information on the game's plot, each frame tugged at my heartstrings and made me tear up... i love the steadily widening border, how certain images are revisited and altered, how the changing text plays into the imagery... the elsters building up and the bloody handprints AGHHH its so good. i love the use of this song too-- with its repetitive lyrics, swelling instrumentals, and muted voice. so so fitting for the game i also adore the little references you sprinkle here and there outside of the game! the house of leaves ones and matisse's dance painting especially my favorite frame has got to be ariane on 1:01... the use of negative space is outstanding and makes her look so lonely. i also always tear up at the lilies on 1:25. you did such a wonderful job with this pmv! i really cannot sing enough praises about it. thank you for sharing your work

I missed them, what are the references?
@rosedevoir25 күн бұрын
@@NimbleJack3 0:49 references the cover of the book, and 1:09 references sections like pg. 141-144, which has the line in red crossed out "Picture that. In your dreams" that suits the video really well! :]

@@rosedevoir Oooh, thankyou! I did wonder about the nautiloid, as it wasn't Signalis imagery, but i didn't connect it to the maze on the cover!

i got the promise ending on my first playthrough and while i thought it was a good game it didn't devastate me as much as i expected. i watched this a week or so after and this brought me pretty damn close to crying though. i feel like something shifted.

i cannot express the feelings each shot elicited, especially the end. it feels so visceral. it’s an mix of emotions that I can not put into words

GAWT. AH! OH GOODNESS! THE STYLISATION. ON MY KNEES. THIS IS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! consider this PMV throned as my all-time-favourite signalis PMV! oh dear me, oh dear me. i hope this gets more attention because it oh-so-deserves it. the exponentially increasing abstraction perfectly complements the repetition in the lyrics and reminds me so fondly of the game itself, repeating symbols corrupting further and further.. auoh! i could write you an essay on how much i am enamoured by this! but i’ll sum it up: you’ve created a wonderful wavering emotion.. woeful nostalgia of the calmer scenes, plus the building stress (both from the loss of reality creating confusion & the growing subtly threatening images) coalescing into what, finally, makes me feel grieving desperation! oh, how i do adore it.

this is so beautiful bro, i am aware of this game but i never played it(and PROBABLY never will because i know my poor heart can't handle another heartbreaking wlw story), so i have pretty much no context for this AND IT'S STILL SO GORGEOUS AND MOVING. This is sooo underrated i can't believe it

Your eye for composition, and the way you convey so much emotion through each image, and all the symbolism and abstraction, and the way so many of the images are built upon throughout the video; it all just comes together so perfectly to create such an absolutely beautiful and moving piece of art. I genuinely cannot stop watching it, thank you so much for making this!!

Man.. what can I even say about this? This is going to be on my mind at least for the next month.. I adore all your symbolism and beautifully simple yet emotional shots you convey through this. The song is such a perfect choice as well I love how it gets more and more intense to match perfectly with the visuals and the story beats holyy
