This is easily my favorite show Bourdain ever did. Something about the early 2000s aesthetic is so nostalgic for me and always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside lol. It's a shame this show only lasted two seasons but I still come back for a rewatch every year or two. It just captured that point in time so well and felt so natural. Nothing is over-produced, it's just Tony giving it to us straight. Just love the whole vibe of this show so much.

I always liked this series of his more than Parts Unknown since he talks about food, food, food. I like knowing about different cultures too and that is why No Reservations is my favorite series of his. I learned how to open my mind and mouth and ate anything I could that resembled the wonderfully extensive tastes and flavors of so many cultures around the world. Twenty years after watching these for the first time I can alread see changes in food and eating on a world wide menu and some of it has to do with Tony's shows.
@cdb50013 жыл бұрын
Agreed, No Reservations was more him being genuine. Parts Unknown started well but ended up looking like an art project and Tony quoting random bits of literature to seem like an intellectual. We already knew he was smart.

Beef Rendang is not just a stew with spices. It is the best dish in the world, there is no competition. I've lived in Malaysia for 27 years, I think I've eaten at least 12 cows worth of Rendang. I basically live for food thanks to this guy. So glad I can live it daily.

While I love beef rendang myself, I think it’s a bold claim to single it out as the best dish in the world. For instance, if we take similar dishes, the French beef Bourguignon and the Japanese beef stew is right up there.

@Lewis.Alcindor3 жыл бұрын
@@tracydanneo OMNY is now available on all subway stations and buses. However, it's not as widely used as it should because unlimited weekly or monthly plans aren't available yet, though that's not much of a concern if we are hybrid remote-working (and spending less time and $ commuting). I would love to start using OMNY, but I still have a couple of MetroCards still full of money, and I only ride two fares a week (one day of office work).
