There are people who can play and those who are musicians. What I just watch was musicianship at its best. I'm a drummer and enjoy every aspect of music. But when you get a group of musicians together that are enjoying every note they contribute to a song, well that's just magic. I think you could put the sheet music away and just have a good ole jam session with amazing results. Really enjoyed it Thanks for posting P.S. the bass player didn't get enough camera time

Anthony I absolutely love your stuff. Who would you say are your influences for this type of playing?
@anthonybrancati44759 жыл бұрын
MilkWasabi Hey thanks for checking this out! I'm influenced by a lot of different music that I guess lead to this tune getting written but I've been hugely influenced by soul/R&B/funk/Blues/Jazz. Artists like Stevie Wonder, and Ray Charles are a huge driving force in my playing and general musical taste but then more current bands like Snarky Puppy and Lettuce have influenced me by introducing me to some new sounds and instrumentations and a lot of that comes out in this tune. A lot of people have tried saying that this tune is just a Snarky Puppy rip off which I don't think is really fair. I'm not trying to hide the fact that they inspired me and my writing of this tune but I think it has it's own character and I owe a ton of credit to Robi Botos for playing on this because it was his playing that actually inspired the melody of this tune over 2 years ago now.
@goyolake9 жыл бұрын
Anthony Brancati This tune is great, lots of nice melodies and harmonies going around (from 2:05 to 3:11 is just damn brilliant). I also made my keyboardists listen to this to 'steal' some cool licks hehe. I sense some Steely Dan influence as well? I don't believe this is a Snarky Puppy rip off, there were lots of fusion bands doing that kind of stuff for years, but Snarky Puppy is kinda the most popular one nowadays so it's the only one people have on their mind, and the one with which they compare. Also, Larnell's playing is easily identifiable. Congratulations.

What a joy to see these young guys making such beautiful music (real music). Sadly the radio stations serve mainly fast music (like fast food) and so many young people never hear anything other than those articifical and shallow tunes and that way they don't learn to appreciate anything else. But I hope these guys inspire many other people of their generation to explore all the great music there is and also pick up instruments, instead of playing computer games all day.
