I always thought Cavett was the prototype for Parkinson. Remember when Parky interviewed Bronowski? Unfortunately, the BBC is now a pale shadow of its past, a wraith that haunts the graveyards of popular culture. The day the Beeb created Eastenders was the day that justification for the licence fee died.
