As someone who was in a daytime mental health treatment center for like 3-4 months from 8am-2pm mon-fri when all I had was depression and anxiety, I get where he’s coming from. Relative to the other people there I was completely normal, like half the group had severe bipolar disorders, a girl had schizophrenia, and a lot of girls had been r@p3d, a couple of the guys had been beaten their whole life etc… And I’m just there like, yeah I grew up without a dad and I feel like I’m stuck in a rut… lol I felt more like and was treated more like a fellow counselor than a patient.

I went to detox/rehab here in the UK and I will never forget one exercise we had to do twice a week, everyone would be in the conference room along with 2 staff members, each person would get two cards and on each card would be a word/s such as liar, in denial or bully basically all bad. Then each person would have to give their cards to whom ever they thought fitted it best then explain to the group and the person you gave the card to why you chose them and give an example. You were not allowed to give a card to yourself or any staff members. Trust me it got heated at times

Society is always going to lie to themselves that there’s a solution for any unsolvable mental disorder, as to not seem like uncaring monsters to the public and their loved ones. The guy screaming on the street is no different than an addict and repetitive, temporary, profitable bandaids will never fix either. Just have to rely on medical detox, personal willpower, and be socially and financially lucky. 45k for a glorified patronizing summer camp isn’t worth it.

I had three seizures two weeks after quitting alcohol, in a detox center while being on all the benzos. Would I have tried to quit at home I'd be dead. I can understand that you don't like the things "they" push, but they're trying to safe your life. Well at least in my country, maybe in the USA they'd rather get rid of you.
