Exactly 1 year ago today Gordon was player of the tournament in the U21 Euros and was one of the main reasons England won.There were some phenomenal young players in the U21 Euro's and Gordon beat the lot of them to join a very illustrious group of players like Pirlo, Cech, Mata, Figo and Laurent Blanc to have won the award yet he's not good enough for Gareth fecking Southgate.

I think he might have pissed Southgate off with an interview he did after he came on for the last few minutes in that game. In the interview it might have come across like he was talking negatively about Southgate’s tactics. I remember saying Southgate won’t like that and sure enough he hasn’t played him since. Such a shame as he looked great in those few minutes he played.

Saw other video and pictures from before and after the game, and Gordon had a smile on his face. One or two solumn pictues doesn't tell the whole story. He's a smart lad who knows that it's only the obstacles and difficult times that make you grow as a human. You can see that from his interviews. He'll be stronger next season from this.

Absolutely that photograph represents about 1/1000 of a second. Like you I have seen many images where he has been playing a part of the group. I think he should be playing more too but his time will come for sure. Whether at this tournament or the next we will see.

My theory is this.. Southgate has been told not to play him by powers above. They, the powers whisper to Liverpool they might be able to get Jordan at knock. Down price, cos Newcastle. Gordon hears whispers. He would have a better chance to play for England if he played for Liverpool or an other cartel club. This all. Blew up. Just before minteh etc were sold . In recent interviews, Gordon comes across as very focused and single-minded, and I hope these traits come to the front whilst at Euro 24. He has had a brilliant season and whilst I'm sure he is frustrated he isn't getting game time I think he, and the squad as a whole don't have much faith in Southgate. Certainly, the attacking players must see how bad we are being set up and the style of play being adopted. The Liverpool, situation can't have helped, neither can the constant reference to it, but I hope he knows the summer will blow over, he'll come back here and we'll love him again next season. As for England, hopefully, Southgate is out, even if we win. I can't understand his thinking. Grealish, Sterling and Rashford have all had poor seasons, Gordon is the obvious choice to be starting on the left and I think the next England manager will see that.

The fact Southgate can't even set up the team correctly tells you everything you need to know. How can you not play the players in their positions? Drop Kane permanently. He's played this whole tournament as a midfielder. Anthony would terrify most full backs and give width and attacking options, but I guess Safegate wants to win this tournament playing the worst football ever with one of the most talented squads at the Euros.

Problem for England with Mainoo has been Pickford refusing to pass to him, he only kicks long or goes sideways. Mainoo comes short wanting the ball and Pickford is a coward and avoids that route every time.

Hello Chris i'd have to say i totally agree with you on every Level, Anthony Gordon came on for the last few Minutes and almost played a Blinder with his very first touch to set Harry Kane up with a Peach of a Ball, Gareth Southgate isn't utilising our Team in the right way, no wonder they have looked so dire and as for Harry Kane he has totally been non existent, surely any manager in their right mind would start making a few changes because atm we are riding our Luck , we have the Quality to beat any team with the Talent we have but if Southgate sticks to the same players i just can't see us going all the Way, but i think we should with the Quality we have.

Sorry Chris but o think that Mainoo is the real deal. I would have dropped Rice who has been poor and kept Mainoo in. Wharton is also class as is our own AG, they have both been treated like shite. Kane has also been dreadful, Tony must come I. For him, I think that we could have played so much better with balance and width. He played TTA in midfield, with no runners up front, this is shit management. You can see why Ben White won’t travel with him, the arrogant prick! I wa Nt England to win but it will be in spite of Safteygate rather than because of him. If he does win it let’s hope that he rides off into the sunset

It maybe the case that Wankgate is just kind of ''blooding'' them into the senior squad, First time in the set up for both of them. The whole “Southgate is just breaking AG in” argument is complete balls as Palmer was in the same U21 team last year and is getting plenty of game time. It’s clear he Wankgate didn’t like his comments in that interview and has frozen him out. AG should leave, go on holiday and come back fresh for pre-season at the toon. It’s not that we’re a bad team, we have the best talent there. The issue that everyone is aware of is, they’re being played out of position and Southgate’s strategy is pathetic. Then there’s the unused talent left on the bench. Give that squad to any manager in the tournament and they’d be winning every game. I can’t rest knowing Shaw was taken and no other left backs. We’ve a couple he could have taken. Watching us is like watching a manager given the best players to choose from but being told, do the very worst you can with them.

I had wondered if it was an age thing but there is simply no good reason to bring on Eze on LW ahead of Gordon. The team is still unbalanced. As for "bringing him in lightly" this isn't blooding an Academy player into the main team, he has played Mens level football and at Champs League level all season so he is up to it at that stage

Do I want the world watching someone who is arguably one of the best wing talents in the world and massive clubs coming to try to buy him when he inevitably impresses? Both Gordon and Cole Palmer should have been used FAR more than they have been, not necessarily starting but if we're 1-0 down at 60-70 minutes get them on then, not in the dying moments of the game! Foden has been mediocre all competiion yet starts every game, Saka has finally come to life but it's taken him 5 games and Mainoo clearly is a favourite. Why have we not had some of the other excellent midfield options coming in well before now (if they even make it on the pitch at all)?

Can you imagine De La Fuente benching Williams or Yamal for Spain? He wouldn't do it, because they're quick, direct, hungry, tenacious, and everything else you want from attackers, just like Gordon. Southgate is seemingly oblivious to the attacking talent at his disposal, or maybe he just doesn't care for it. England have stumbled into the final through a ridiculous amount of good luck, while playing the most boring and predictable football i have ever seen. The problem is: luck eventually runs out. If Southgate's plan is to sit progressively deeper for 90 minutes and nick a jammy stoppage time winner with a hail Mary against Spain, we're in BIG trouble.

I am like you. I agree whole heartedly with your comments. I don't know what Gordon has to do to even get on the pitch as a substitute, especially when Foden has been rubbish on the left. I would have dropped Kane, Saka and Foden following their performances in the Solevenia when Gordon was brought on in the 89th minute. How can anyone make an impact in such a short period of time. Southgate was rubbish as a player and he is even worse as a manager. Too defensive and conservative. It hasn't been an enjoyable watch to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised if Gordon switches allegiance to Scotland after the tournament.

It must be hard for Gordon and Wharton to feel involved in this tournament. Gordon has more fingers on his hand than the number of minutes he has got to play. Wharton hasnt even played. Phil Foden doesnt play anywhere near as good for England as he does Man City yet keeps getting a start. I'd even start Ivan Toney over Hairy Kane but he's another Gareth Sidegate favourite (Kane). Sidegate will be gone after the Euros so hopefully a new manager comes in with a different train of thought.......

England is having to accommodate Foden. Both Foden & Bellingham want to play the same position. Leaving the left wing empty and the middle crowded. Gordon for Foden is the obvious answer. He’d do on the left what Saka is doing on the right. But he won’t get a kick under Southgate…who is obviously instructed to play only big 6 players (unless there’s no other alternative). If I was Gordon, I’d pack my bags and use the time for a well-earned vacation.
