I think we need an upgrade too but he was instrumental in us finishing 4th. You'd think he was Wayne Ferraday the way you're going on. What do you want him to say, he's shite and I want him out ? He's still at the club, if they can't move him out then he's gonna have to be part of the squad. Dear me, howay man.

Tbh this summer has been nothing less than a shitshow in the transfer market. I understand there are PSR issues but it doesn’t change the fact for me it’s been extremely disappointing & frustrating overall, was expecting so much more by this stage, after all they work for months planning on transfers these days & by all accounts Newcastle haven’t even nailed down their targets. Shambolic.

This mentality will be what prevents EH becoming elite, he's got to find that ruthless streak, it's there because he can dispatch players he doesn't like with ease. The issue is when a "player he likes" is mediocre.

Hallo Chris, Mark. I'm in full agreement with you, Almiron should have been sold last season. His poor statistics speak for themselves. We aren't winning anything with Almiron, Murphy, & longstaff in the 1st team, imo. " Buy better," a wise man once said. Reguarding Minteh, we should *never have sold him. The more he progresses as a player, the more it will come back to bite us. Which in pre- season, it's already doing....

I got a load of stick in the comments section of the Chronicle the other day for saying Miggy was a load of shite! I was castigated for having the audacity to question the sale of Minteh in favour of keeping a complete non entity in Almiron. He's just another Ayoze Perez/Jonas type player who flatters to deceive most of the time by being busy doing nothing. He has one decent game in every 10 which is not good at this level! If Newcastle have ambitions of being a regular in the top six then players like Almiron need moving on ASAP! Almiron's performance against Brighton last season showed us all we needed to know about him and his true merit. As for that nugget Howe, let him go and take the England job because we will be better off without him! Howe gets far too much of a pass for last season because of the injuries, that doesn't tell anywhere the whole story though! Howe was terrible before the injuries hit and his lack of leadership last season was alarming to say the least. Howe is nowhere near as good as he likes to think he is and well overhyped in my opinion. Howe is a good coach but not a great figurehead that you rally round in the long term. I think there will be trouble ahead with Mitchell because Howe is old school and used to having a free reign which he is now not going get. Since the inception of the DOF into this country it has not worked well unless the appointed man is picking his own coach to work with on a daily basis. Howe has already seen off Ashworth who couldn't work with him and his obsession with overhyped players who have been around the England scene. I think with the way Newcastle are going to work going forward requires a foreign coach to come in who is used to working within the DOF system.

If there is much more of a delay in making a 1st team signing this window, then I don't any change to Howe's 1st 11 from 2022/23 season with the possible exception of Hall starting at left back. Thats 2 summer windows without making a signing that strengthens the 1st 11. This summer and last summer's windows have been really poor. Once you add in Tonali ban and this summers FSP panic stations it makes you wonder if Eales and Howe are needing replaced. Mitchell was in the works for months so why hasnt he hit the ground running with deals lined up? The whole thing is very strange indeed.

Hi again, another great rant and to be fair I agree with what you are saying on the whole. There are a few players at the club who have been great ambassadors and had some good moments, but moments do not win the league, we need consistency consistency consistency and we do not have that in anything like a large enough dose. Your top clubs buy top top players who are proven week in week out. Please don’t get me wrong , where we are now and where we were just a couple of years ago is light years ahead, but the time is now here to show the rest of the premier league we mean business whether that is with some of the nice guys or without as long as we progress year on year that’s what matters. This time has been long overdue and we have been more than patient haven’t we all. The curve should definitely be on the up now and having to sell some of our young future stars to manage ffp or what the f it is, we need to offload the older less productive staff, it’s only natural after all, and give the up and coming players their time. Minteh should not have been sold until he was given a chance in the first team , I have a feeling that will come back and haunt us this season. Eddie Howe is a great guy and done wonders for the club , he has steadied the ship for a few seasons but he needs to recognise we are to push on a bit more now, and I hope he is able otherwise I can’t see him being at Newcastle another trophy less season. Haway the lads .
@Boemher8909 сағат бұрын
The issue is lack of incoming signings. Get rid of Almiron but only if we sign someone 1st. Same as Wilson or Trippier. The only one Id sell upfront would be Longstaff as there are enough centre mids on the books. I agree Almiron needs shifted but see this as a general club transfer policy issue rather than purely Howe. I think the club should get rid of Howe's nephew though. Imagine if Bruce had given one of his sprogs a job at the club..

I’m confident this is Eddie paving the way for Miggy’s exit. Eddie is way smarter than that, just look at how he has managed the structural change.
@Mark-jc6ew10 сағат бұрын
I’m quite sure Eddie knows what we require. Miggy is still a Newcastle player and as such you would expect Eddie to speak highly of him. Trippier looks to be wanting a fresh start probably away from the UK. BDB will be another yard slower, Wilson injured more often than not, Miggy no end product. FFP & PAS rules forced us to sell players. We have not had to sell any of our best players despite other clubs trying to unsettle them.
@user-fc9xq5df2l10 сағат бұрын
Love and trust Eddie, but sometimes I get frustrated with his diplomacy and his decisions. The time to sell Miggy and Wilson was the start of last season, when they still had value and interest. Loyalty is a great trait but has the potential to stunt the clubs growth. I'm just an armchair fan with little to no insight into the workings of the club but think we missed our chance of a few sale opportunities last summer window. I cannot see either of these two players doing anything other than repeating last seasons performances. Gutted we had to sell Minteh, think we might regret that.

He knows we need an upgrade and is singing his praises to try and beef him up to try to sell him. Eddies not going to throw him under the bus and say hes not good as that will seem we want rid and is poor so no one will come in for him. We do need to sell him and this could be a ploy to try to sell him as it appears there is no interest and this could help to generate interest.

@graham972310 сағат бұрын
Hi Chris, I obviously agree that we need a good right winger to replace Miggy. That is our greatest need right now. But I have said many times in the past that we have never played Miggy in his best position, which is number 10. He plays there for Paraquay and he played there for Atlanta. Only Newcastle have played him consistantly on the wing. I'd like to see him go so we can get some money into the coffers but if he does stay he could be the 3rd through the middle man we are looking for. I'll probably get slated for that but hey ho.

I love Miggy. If smiles and workrate won you trophies I'd keep him. Even I know it's time he moved now. If we're not going to get much money for him, perhaps keep him as a squad or cup player. We need 2 right wingers imo. We can't rely on him on the wing for goals and assists, but perhaps he would be an asset in midfield, just have him chase the ball all game and terrorise the opposition, he is a little terrier
