Unless someone attacked or threatened me with bodily harm my very stand-up husband would support me emotionally and know that I can handle a silly comment (from a comedian, no less). Real men don’t get into a slug fest over a few careless (not malicious) words. Smith walked up there all on his own. Nobody “made him” assault Chris Rock, then further soil an otherwise lovely event with shouted expletives. One would have to be drunk to go on a stage in front of the audience and the world and lower themself to being a thug. Sure everyone has bad days, but this was his night. The last thing you want to do is stain it by losing your temper. And his wife should’ve had more fortitude and not let the audience or Will see her reaction to Chris’ joke. Chris was roasting everyone that night. Everyone else understood Chris wasn’t attacking people out of hate. Even Will laughed at the joke because he knew that too. But Jada…her focus should’ve been to maintain her composure and support Will, and after the show was over, she could’ve spoke to Will about how she felt about Chris teasing her. At least the drama would have happened off screen and the talk wouldn’t have been about the slap the whole week after.
