This is also the first time I have to wonder about the Ben Davison/Lee Wylie prep of a fighter. How in the name of Jesus it was deemed okay to send AJ in with his hands at his nipples against a foe that has explosive feet and wings fast and powerful hooks in is beyond me. That means you’re 100% relying on reflexes. The whole game planning looked to be ‘meet him with the right and circle off to the right.’ It’s just not good enough. I also think Ben gave away too much in interviews. It was clear from the interviews what AJ was gonna look to do and that could’ve also been a huge downfall as it pre-warned Dubois’ team to the game-plan.

AJ spent the entire fight looking towards his corner for guidance. Almost like he doesn't have natural fighting instincts - or maybe so at the end of the fight he can blame his trainer for not preparing him with the right tactics to beat Dubois. AJ looked clueless.
@aidenbirkett4553Ай бұрын
He can't blame his trainer the person to blame is Herne. Aj's only tactic is jab and lining up for a knockout he has nothing else to bring to the match fair play to him for staying in their for 5 rounds but his only tactic is the jab he can't get into a scrap.
@TheRealLegenDzАй бұрын
To be fair, if you get caught by a looping right in round 1, you would look clueless. AJ's defence was non existence and he thought he was fighting Ngannou again. All he was looking for was an uppercut but wasn't setting it up with his jab first.
@aidenbirkett4553Ай бұрын
@@TheRealLegenDz There was a few problems with Aj 1. He was led to believe he had already won the fight during the build up, 2. @roscot40Ай бұрын
@@blackpound2297Hardly… AJ was roasted by the British public for a good long while following the Ruiz fight and the bloods seemingly in the water again now. They’ll have a mixed reaction to this result, as both of these men fought an elite Usyk and had pockets of greatness… and despite people picking at their resumes, they’ve certainly dispatched their share of American fighters. The only person everyone seems to be avoiding is Bakole, but that will change now. The same could be said for American’s loving old Money Fairweather… the most overrated LMW-MW of all time. A guy who during America’s golden era of Duran, Hearns, Leonard and Hagler, wouldn’t have lasted against any of them. AJ has a generally more casual fanbase, because he appeals to that hero stereotype physically and gets all the Men’s Health roll off. He was cocky in this fight and judging by some of the looks in his corner from other angles wasn’t following the plan. I don’t think he’ll be firing Davison for this fight, despite his track record and that says a lot about what really went wrong. If he does, it’s because he’s up to his old tricks and not listening. Itauma will be the next major threat and he’s still young.
