Mackie can’t imo. No offence to him because he seems like a nice guy, but it also seems like he wants to be a stand up comedian and sidetracks conversations to accommodate his jokes rather than to have the natural charisma to make the jokes flow in normal conversation. The ‘sweet spot’ part above is probably a perfect example. They’re talking about parents at the kids schools, then Anthony chimes in with a tenuously connected joke about sweet spots, asks the audience if they don’t know what sweet spots are, proceeds to bring over Kimmel to explain a sweet spot, etc. Not criticising him or nothing, but to me it seems he’s inspired by folks like Eddie Murphy and has a personality more fitting for elaborate stand up comedy as opposed to the quippy, snappy charisma-based personality of RDJ for example. I wouldn’t describe him as charismatic, just someone who enjoys to joke and make others laugh.
