If they extend Happ I'm very optimistic about them getting back to a strong team. Have a lot of solid young talent and brought in help to contend. I like the direction they are going but hop they don't ditch Happ and others and expect the young guys to come up and save them. Think it'll be a solid and fun year for them tho and could definitely be competitive this year

Honestly, I thought the era ended earlier. When a productive player and team leader, Ben Zobrist retired the team was just off. He was a big leader for those cubs teams and I at least felt a huge difference with his absence.

And I as a Yankee fan can remember how your Red Sox smashed up the Curse of the Bambino so thoroughly, that the Cardinals were basically looking down the barrel of a SHOTGUN! It was like BOOM! And just little red feathers all over the place!!! Maybe if these Cubs were to get through the Dodgers, the very hot Cleveland Indians would be staring down that shotgun barrel, too!!!

There will never be another Cubs season quite like this one. It was pure magic. Every game was memorable. The team had so much character. It was reminiscent of the 90s era Bulls teams. Thank you to everybody that made this happen and to all of us Cubs fans that waited our whole lives for it. It was well worth the wait. What a magical season….thank God they won Game 7. I had to pay attention to remember the games I attended that season; I think it was 7-8. Russell’s slam I remember being there. I was there when Chapman made his first appearance. When Russell made a diving catch. When Rizzo hit two against Bartolo Colon; probably more highlights if I can remember

All our boys were so small and baby faced back then. Especially Javy. I mean he looks like a little kid who's wearing one of his dads shirts to go to bed in. The amount of muscle gains is just impressive. You can even see Contreras smiling back then. And then Jed Hoyer took them all away from us. I'm not exactly a glass half full guy usually, but people say there's always a chance Rizzo, Bryant and Baez may come back to play for the Cubs...but I don't see that ever happening. I honestly believe we'll never have any of our core boys back 😥

Reflecting on the Cubs' total 2016 season, through the final out last night, I can recall contributions by every single player who made up this miraculous team at one point or another. Countless brilliant plays - had they failed for whatever reason at the time - could have resulted in the Cubs not winning their division, or the pennant, or the World Series. Mind boggling! So who else couldn't sleep last night?!! Also - do I get to fly the W until spring training starts without taking it down, or what's the protocol here? I'm in uncharted territory. Love you guys!!!

I don't think you're correct. Per MLB Rule 8.05, a lefthanded pitcher can throw to first base without stepping off the rubber as long as he steps directly toward first base before making his throw. If he brings his lead foot behind the rubber, then he has committed to throwing home and cannot then throw to first base without committing a balk. If he moves toward home, then he must complete his pitch to the batter and cannot then throw to first without committing a balk. In this case, the pitcher kept his lead foot always in front of the rubber and stepped directly toward first base, so his pickoff throw was legal, even though he didn't first step off the rubber.
