Thank you for the review of the PXA-H800 with RUX-C800, I am looking at this setup as well. Going to be running, Alpine PDR-F50 amp Alpine MRX-M110 amp Alpine RUX-KNOB bass control Alpine SPR-60C (door) speaker Alpine SPR-60 (enclosure) speaker Alpine SWR-10D4 (enclosure) subwoofer Alpine SPR-69 (rear deck) speaker And eventual upgrade Alpine PXA-H800 Pioneer 8100NEX or Alpine equiv. Going to wait until a real solid winner in the Android HU shows up.

AnthonyJ350 2014 Chevy Camaro 1LT. Picking up a Alpine PXE-H660 now instead of the Alpine PXA-H800 as an interim solution as I was going to run a LOC like the audio Controls LC7i, but the budget dictates a less expensive choice and I am getting the H660 for just a little bit more than the LC7i was going to run.

I hear yah, but you cant adjust then from the driver seat, if this c800 controlled any dsp id be onboard in a second. Just cant see spending $950 to get the dsp and controller, when there is soo much more out there for less, that is comparable. Like a LC8i paired with an Clarion EQS755, to control it, for 1/3 the price.

Can you upload a basic setup and tuning using a laptop for this processor. A lot of people need to deiced to buy this or other processors like bitone, 3sixty.3, ps8 and so on. I didn't find any video for the PXA-H800.

I love Alpine and I've had several Alpine products and HU'S (like the IMPRINT audio processor for Alpine HUs). But I've also found out that there's a big diference between how music should sound on the customer's vehicle according to Alpine's specs (or any other brand), and how does the customer likes music to sound on his vehicle. Which means, a person can have top of the line audio gear installed on his vehicle and everything can be tuned the way it SHOULD. But, even then, the customer might not like the final results and he still payed big bucks for that. Also, I've realized that the more audio gear involved (HU's, speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers, audio processors, etc), the more complicated it can be to tune the way you like. It's just my experience and opinion.

thanks mate. this explained a bit more about whats going on. the reason i came to your video is i think I'm going to have to bypass a fibre optic linked amp in a merc factory setup. no harness available that i can find that will help me use the factory amp. thanks from Australia

Can you guys tell me why on some songs when I crank the sound up alot my speakers sound really washed out like bubbly, almost like the bass is really distorting them. I mean there good speakers there Polk audio mm461p and my head unit is a deh80prs pioneer.
@AnthonyJ350
@AnthonyJ350 11 жыл бұрын
They could be under powered. Practically every aftermarket speaker sold on the market won't hit its true potential until you put an Amplifier on it. Even stock speakers can benefit from more power from a good quality amp.

Kole Powell I prefer to have speakers amped. What you can do for now is turn on your high pass filter in the deck (if equipped) that way the speakers don't try to play low tones of bass.

nice video. I liked the info. I have a horrible OEM stereo in my 2010 mini cooper S. Would you suggest Alpine PXA-H701 vs. JBL MS-8?

Is that Alpine still a current model? I did training earlier this year with some industry leaders and many agree the Alpine PXA-H800 is the best on the market. Even compared to Audio Control etc. I'm going to suggest the Alpine unit.

I am looking for fidelity over power. My options include: 1. change head unit (problem as many car features are linked to OEM unit) 2. change speakers +/- amp 3. incorporate DSP such as the above unit. I currently have an installed cheap SONY DSP unit with desired results. However, it only works with the iphone 4 and has become obsolete. Any advice is greatly appreciated, fellow Canuk.

AnthonyJ350 I want to keep it stock looking, steering wheel controls, space in a Mini is very "small" so I don't want things sticking out or have to relocate things, computer display module, etc
@AnthonyJ350
@AnthonyJ350 10 жыл бұрын
Cause there is a nice mounting get available from metraonline.com for your car. Check it out see what you think. There are a lot of aftermarket solutions to keep your factory options i.e. steering wheel controls. And if you change the head unit you get more functionality. But if you want to keep the stock head unit, you can build a sound system around it.

Hey, i bought just the alpine pxa-h800 without the rux-c800. The pxa-h800 was perfectly installed on my car and, when i connect it to a notebook, the processor starts normally, but, if i turn the car off, and then turn it on, the processor doesn´t start, it requires a notebook to start. all my speakers and processor are from alpine, but my head unit it is not. It is the original, that comes with my vw passat 2010. Do you know how i can start my alpine pxa-h800 without the rux-c800 or an alpine Head Unit? Please help me, i don´t know what else to do.

It's an Ai-Net unit therefore either an Ai-Net head unit or the remote controller is needed. It's just a DSP so it has to be controlled externally by one of the two.

It's just a stand alone DSP so you'll need to use it to control your amplifiers.

Thanks

remove the factory unit (immediately) and add a top of the line Alpine unit or something of equal quality these processors were not really designed for factory units, just an extra sales gimmick and have to remember every bad link will show its weakness and in this case its the Audi unit and garbage in garbage out also add the very best cables you can, both speaker and RCA as they make a huge difference, QED home audio cables are very nice set up well and especially in the Alpine demo cars these units really rock

waste money.Noise Cancellation, is cancelling all but what you are playing, so you can not ear a siren?. Control has presets for rock, dubstep?, I really prefer to move a graph eq that some guy just thought "this is the best eq for rock, or dubstep". Really a waste of money.3342 for example, introduce delays to waves, so you may reach a church, stadium or several effects that sounds really cool in your truck.

To make yr sound system sounds better u need better speakers not processors... this processor is around 600 $ plus 300$ for Rux which is almost 1000 $ I would rather spend that 1000 on better speakers than on processor because u cant make decent speakers sound like high end components. Its like u own hond civic and u just did a new exhaust to drive faster. But it will still be a honda not Mercedez. So I'd rather spend more money and buy mercedez ... ;-)
@AnthonyJ350
@AnthonyJ350 11 жыл бұрын
But in the beginning of the video I stated you've already bought all these things and you want better sound quality still. Any system in general, to get max potential from it you need fine tuning, that's what this does. Like an engine you just had built, you don't just put it together and just run it, you need to tune it to make the most of it. And I don't know some people can just get an awesome 3 grand to 5 grand system in a 20 grand car and it's way cheaper than buying a 50 thousand dollar car with a decent sound system.
@MartyM.

Speakers just produce sound, not allow the adjustment for frequency response issues. That comment is not logical.
@Jellybeantiger
@Jellybeantiger 6 жыл бұрын
lol,that mic is tiny and rubbish,no way that could analyse a car’s frequency response,there is alot of snake oil in high end audio gear. This thing would also be stolen in a jiffy being a thousand dollars. Rich people are evil.

Ok so you're used to recording studios. Say what you will about car audio but there are a lot of factors against us to make a vehicle sound really good. Wind, engine, and road noise. Speaker placement is off because you have to have windows roll down. You can't really sit in the middle. The funny thing is, we're doing our best to reproduce music to help do THE MUSICIAN justice, because we want to replicate the artist's music as best as we can. I find your comment funny because as a car audio installer I'm on your side since most OEM systems you cannot appreciate the time and detail a lot of musicians create. Or maybe you don't try that hard at making music so it sounds fine in any car or sound system? Also not sure how it would be stolen if you don't know it's there...
