This is a really great technique. And you can make it a colored pencil sketch by using a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer instead of Black and White!!

Appreciate the video. This is the 4th video of the same exact process I am watching in the past hour. All the videos are using a professional pic against a plain background. When using this method for most regular images, the Gaussian blur filter results in extremely heavy shadow behind each element in the image and makes the resulting sketch unusable. Is there a way to avoid this?
