I think an HDR "Merging" application is a requirement because there are times when the dynamic range of a scene cannot be captured by the camera. Bracketing and merging is the way to go and I was blown away with how good of a job, On1 HDR 2022 does. HDR with or without that HDR "look" - it's up to you. ** I am an affiliate for all of the other companies mentioned here EXCEPT Affinity Photo and Capture One. Thanks for the video Anthony! Can you comment on the advantages of a dedicated HDR software versus using the hdr merge in LR?
@Starlite4321 Жыл бұрын
Actually this plugin "all by itself" does NOT work as a plugin in Photoshop as stated at 1:05. ON1 says they are fundamentally incompatible and have no plans to correct this. It does however work with LrC as stated.

Thank you for using the term exposure latitude to describe the cameras ability to deal with high dynamic range scenes. Its a term that needs to be reintroduced to photography.

Please show how to do Batch processing using ON1 2022 (not the plugin)

I've not used ON1 HDR in about 8 months and did have some issues with it. Namely, there were times it couldn't stack and/or align the photos. Ended up having Aurora HDR do the job. I remember trying to stack 50 full moon shots and ON1 HDR would crash. Hopefully they've made some improvements of late.

How does this compare to the Nik HDR Efex Pro 2? ( the merge multiple exposure one)

Good video and information. I tried this on 2 different single photos opening them from lightroom in ON1 HDR. Using the TIFF file format, after editing in ON1 and clicking done, it saved the files to the folder on disk, but didn't open them in Lightroom. In Lightroom the thumbnail in the filmstrip shows 1 of 2 when I hover over the thumbnail, but the TIFF file is not there, but when I look in file explorer it is there. Any idea why this is happening and how I can make ON1 open it back into Lightroom instead of just saving it to the disk? Then I tried to import them into the Lightroom catalog and Lightroom shows them to be in the catalog and they are grayed out in Import so they can't be imported again, yet they do not show up in Develop in Lightroom. This is weird.

1 question. Why can't you do it in photoshop?
@sage10082 жыл бұрын
It would have been nice if you had shown the difference between OnOne and Lightrooms HDR merge.
@jonypom Жыл бұрын
I did a simple trial while working with 2023 version and lastest lightroom version, and i noted that lightroom wins by a large margin in aligment and deghosting (im note sure if that the exact word) the hdr option are nice but if you work in enviroments where its imposible to prevent ghosting lightroom will be a better option.

Do you think it's better then Photomatix?
@joelwexler2 жыл бұрын
A couple years ago I thought Aurora was way better than Photomatix. So I wonder how they all compare. My PC is having a bad day, I don't even want to try.

We used to call that "gaudy" HDR look "something that looks like a painting using clown puke colors"
