I believe so as well. Most of the parents of your generation which would be the grandparents of mine, they were savers and they also owned multiple homes. However, it wasn’t financial knowledge at their fingertips like it is now, even with my grandparents they invested on a small scale. I eventually took care of them very young at 18 years old, long story. I managed their money and properties very well for my age however I did not have the financial knowledge that I have today because if I did.. I would have multiplied that money tremendously!

We have to know history. Rolling back affirmative action has been supported by black faces in politics. Their message was that it was somehow unfair to OTHER groups. Because we didn’t have the historical context to understand that it was for the repair of our finances and career opportunities that were denied to us. Great interview.

There's no hate toward any other group of people, I'm just unapologetic about knowing who I AM. Anthony, it is time you bring people like John Rogers of Ariel Investment on your show. We have the examples in our communities. We just need to be practical. We often think we can talk ourselves into riches and financial independence. White folks had a leg up long ago but saying that now means we have not accepted our reality. Reminds me of Africans in Africa often blaming the West for their plight instead of their leaders for poor governance. It is tough but we have to take personal accountability for our future. I am from Africa but took interest in investment and have a little nest egg now.

The first and foremost thing we've got to do is to avoid going to jail and prison at all cost, that is time you can never get back. It sets you back from building wealth. One cannot build wealth from a prison cell. The system has figured that out, and they will prey on black people' quick to anger to get them in-n-out that system, to keep them from advancing. More than 90% of crimes that we commit that gets us sent to jail or prison can be deduced to misunderstandings and anger problems, thus could easily be avoided.
@wftyler9680
@wftyler9680 2 ай бұрын
The “more than 90%” comment is inaccurate….and not going to jail isn’t enough. Fighting Injustice in the justice system is a MUST or else we’ll keep having to accept double standards in the penal system - and we can’t make progress that way.

We use an wealth spectrum with just black and white. But where do Asians (East, Southeast, South), Hispanics, Arabs, etc. fall into it?
@kaylean39
@kaylean39 2 ай бұрын
We’re not including them because very early on in American history the FOUNDATION of the United States was being established and built by White European settlers and African Slaves. Those other groups didn’t come until later in, and while they have all contributed to the development and history of the US( some in more ways that others) none of those groups you named are the FOUNDATION of the country. They had their own situation happening during that time in their part of the world. So, why would you include people in a discussion about systemic white supremacy in early the early US when it doesn’t pertain to them?
@kaylean39
@kaylean39 2 ай бұрын
Now when you talk about modern wealth spectrums they are included, but he’s not talking about everybody right now. He’s talk specifically about a smaller percentage of black people that descend from slavery in the US. P.s most of those groups you mentioned identify as white, especially most Hispanics and middle easterners.

Since zoning first took root in the early twentieth century, it has invariably been used to enforce and perpetuate a uniquely American form of apartheid, shrouded in a fog of planning jargon and obtuse codes. While you will find no mention of race or class in your contemporary local zoning ordinances, the open pursuit of American apartheid forms the basis of many zoning codes still in effect today. Yes, the courts clamped down on de jure racial zoning in 1917, BUT court approval of economic zoning in 1926 would pave the way for de facto racial segregation…cities were quick to bring in renowned zoning framers who could provide legal cover for the same old exclusionary zoning codes
