You didn't go into the large room? The first time I went there was in 1976 my sisters friend showed us the cave, they were too scared to go down but her friend and I went down. As I recall there are two tunnels you have to crawl through on your belly to get to the large cave. The second tunnel is the most difficult and after that you are in a large cave. When we went in there we had brought about 20 birthday cake candles and lit them up inside. It's like a mini Carlsbad Caverns in the cave. After that I showed my friend the cave, I think we were about 16 or 17 years old, he loved it and then he showed it to a bunch of people. I have been down in that cave about 6 or 7 times.

Just started watching the video. Hope you had a good time. I live in Albuquerque. So are you down in the SE quadrant, then? If you're only a half mile from TX....

Caving solo seems like a bad idea. What safety precautions did you take? Stay safe!

Well its considered to be a fairly low risk cave so I didn't feel too bad going alone. However, I did call someone right before entering the cave and as soon as I got out and they had a time to call for help if i never reached out to them.

That's the Anthony gap. Not Anthony's gap. It connects Anthony, texas to chaparral, new mexico.
