Im a huge movie buff, and Robocop is my favorite movie of all time. I think its a masterpeice. I like both the sequels, but I know theyre both bad. I think 2 gets more love than 3 because Weller is still in it and its overly violent. 3 is a campy dumb movie but it had a decent plot, 2 is a bit of a mess but has great effects and action. The remake is ok. I was scared to watch this review, because I was worried it would turn out to be a non posable brick. Im pleasantly surprised.

The first Robocop isn’t even close to a bad film, and is easily one of the best films of the 80’s, and while 2 isn’t a borderline masterpiece like the first one, it’s alright. Robo-Cain is easily the best part of the film. 3 on the other hand is dogshit in every way.

I genuinely love Robocop 2, and it still digs into its satire roots. The bit about how OCP can’t create another Robocop seems to a nice wink at the audience regarding sequels. The tone seems more comedic than the first. Really my only major complaint about the film is they bring up Murphy stalking his ex-wife and almost immediately drop it. The first film was about Murphy regaining his humanity, they had an opportunity for him to get closure with his family. If anything Robocop 2 at least feels like a Robocop film which I can’t say the same for the Turd film or the TV series.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one Anthony. I actually thought that out of all 3 movies, Robocop 2 was the superior movie. Indeed, the whole Robocop series was JUST above "B movie" status, but the first and second movies had a unique kind of grit and an almost "tongue in cheek " attitude, that a lot of people didnt really get. ...dare I say that the whole execution was a bit ahead of it's time?...or, they could all just really suck and simply hold a special place in my "nostalgia bone". 🤣🤣🤣 Sik

This is a great amount of detail for such a small scale. The reason I lean towards 6 inch 1/12 scale is the amount of detail that could be fit into each figure. Modern technology is starting to close the detail differences when it comes to small scales. This could have be questioning what I collect in the future... I watched the Robocop movies as a child. So I was only interested in seeing the robots; Robocop, E.D. 209, Robocain. I didn't pay attention to the story, or dialogue. I was just waiting to see some robots, and guns shooting.

I don't think someone who likes it does so because they like bad movies. It's not as good as the first film in my book. Now for this figure, I just want a big guy. Just too small for a character that's massive and I like 1:12 to start with.

I love Robocop 2. It’s not as good as 1 but they went pretty batshit crazy in 2. Some incredibly funny scenes too. I should say I grew up with 3 but at this point in my life I just choose to ignore that movie’s existence.

Always loved the look of this character. This is a great looking figure but it's too small for me. Would totally buy a larger version of this bad boy. Great review!

Robocop 2 attempt at making it "cool for kids" kinda undermines it a bit, but it's still a pretty good movie with tons of memorable scenes and characters. Robocop 3 was when the series really went downhill. Even so, it still has a spot in my heart since it was one of the movies I most watched as a kid.

Robocop 2 was really a dig at the "make it cool for kids" shtick most 90's toylines were doing, as it just only slightly less gory and the one kid character in THAT film was swearing like hell and selling drugs.

The first Robocop movie is a masterpiece. The second one is not nearly as good but I still find it greaT; compared to most of today's mainstream blockbusters...I appreciate it even more. This looks live a really, really good toy but sadly it doesn't go with anything I own Robocop-related. I wish it was 1/12 and had some diecast. Oh well.

The film had potential. Unfortunately, the main arches of the characters were cut out, which is why the film essentially turned into a set of events. Maybe someday we'll see that true version of the movie. So far, it remains to read only the novelization.

Me and my cousin had the vhs of Robocop 2 constantly on, that's how much we loved that movie. Our favourite parts were Cain's brain extraction, the Robocop 2 prototips failures, all things nuke ralted and dr. Juliette Fax. Oh, and of course the trumpets on Delta City/Robo2 presentation signaled that the true party was about o begin!

Thanks for taking the time to review this figure! I find it hard to believe it's only 1/18 scale at this level of detail. The only thing they didn't include was an alternate head, opened with the screen showing Cain's face. As for Robocop 2... I saw it on release, and remember being very disappointed. It seems the writers couldn't decide if they were doing a goofy parody or a straight up sequel: violent, brutal, with Paul Verhoeven's signature caustic humour. It ended up as a clumsy patchwork of both, and it just doesn't work for me. The RoboCain armour was terrifying in the action scenes, but who can possibly consider that creating a supercop by using an ultraviolent, psychotic, drug addicted crime boss' brain is a good idea (in universe and in writing)? The whole dedication and mental fortitude excuse doesn't work.

Fun fact, I made a life size cardboard Robocain as a kid. I made everything out of cardboard as a kid, lots of batcaves too. Good times. I remember enjoyed 2part 2 as a kid/pre teen but yeah not a very good movie. 1 stands on it's own as amazing, sequels weren't needed. I totally remember barely getting through part 3 when I first rented it. But yeah, Hiya has come a long way. I still think their QC with the Aliens line could be better but encompassing all their properties, I enjoy them a lot. Excellent review!

Ive never seen the sequels, but I grew up with the first and loved the design of ED209. As a kid, II thought that was the coolest design. I'm really excited for Hiya's Godzilla line, especially with them being 6" scale.

Hot take: Robocop 2 is as good as 1. Edit: Forgot to mention, Phil Tippet said he made Cain overly complicated because he was bothered by how quickly unlicensed ED-209s came into the market. Made it stupid-hard to reproduce on purpose.

I love Robocop 2. It’s pure fan service for me… to just see Robocop kick butt. I will say though that all the progression Murphy gained in regaining some humanity in 1 was not shown in 2, which was disappointing. But hey, Murphy is just a ghost or memory anyway. But I’ll be picking robocain… either this one or the model kit. I’ve been waiting on Cain, lol. Robocop 3 sucks in every aspect, no offense to Robert burke. But thanks to you I’m leaning on this figure.

I liked Robocop 2 as a kid, not sure how I'd feel about it if I watched it today. Question on toy engineering: Does the scale of a toy also determine how you would engineer the joints? Would a 1/18 scale figure not have as much movement or range due to maybe not using as much plastic therefore the joints wouldn't be able to withstand the strain of posing/play? Also does the change in scale change the allowed clearences of a figure? Could you scale down what you're doing with your Rival's line to 1/18 scale without any sort of changes? Thanks for any answers.

You can do all the same stuff within reason. It's hard to make small parts though. My line would translate well enough due to the focus on simple effective articulation.

I agree Robocop 2 sucked. Which bummed me out because I was really looking forward to it prior to it's release in 1990. I do enjoy this design though and the Robocain stop motion sequences were decent. This figure is a really good likeness.

Robocop 2 was decent to me. It was way more goofy than 1, I think thats what people hate. I havn’t seen the movie since I was a kid so it might actually suck if I rewatch it today. Robocain was an awesome robot design. He looks like a hot mess, like whoever designed him had no direction other than make a big scary machine but its so awesome to me lol. Lots of cool little details he had, I remember him having retractable claws on his feet to grip the ground at one part. I don’t know, I just dug it.

I do like Robocop 2. I admit is a lot less ambitious than the original and even as a kid felt that the part where Murphy gets rebuilt feels repetitive but still it's the best possible movie considering the original director and writers aren't involved. And it could have been far worse if you read the comic adaptation of the original script by Frank Miller. The third one is for too childish and low on budget and anything Robocop without Peter Weller doesn't count for me. Love Robo Cain the idea of it from the design is terrible and kinda meta how OCP can't succeed at making a Robocop 2.

Robocop 1 is for me a good Sci-Fi Movie in general, the only problem I have with the movie is with the finally, I always feel it a little abruptly and not that good, but in general I like the movie. Robocop 2 I just found it entertaining to watch, but in some points act more like a Parody of Robocop, but meh, I just found it entertaining, Robocop 3 is a stinker and Robocop Remake have a good cast, was a good attempt but at the end something was missing in general. But a I like how this figures looks, definitely to put side by side with Robocop.
