Awesome review, and seems like a good figure. But the cape is supposed to drape only towards the back and not on the front over the shoulders as you wanted. In the movie, the cape cannot move towards the front. I guess it's for functional use so then the cape wouldn't get in the way when Batman fights, because you are right that in other versions of Batman's suit he can drape the cape over the front of his suit.

I think because the chest is too narrow it makes his neck seem wider than it should be.But still a good looking figure and the best option we've had so far.

A gotta say, the coloring on this figure is way better than the Justice League version. The grey is just light enough and to be two toned and won't be mistaken for an all black costume.

the biggest thing keeping me from this figure is I just don't like wired capes. But everything else with this figure make it really tempting and I can't imagine DC collectible's offering being better.

I can really spot BatFleck underneath the Batsuit/BatCowl whatever you want to name it. MAFEX really put a lot of effort on this version of BVS Batman I supposed. For the QC they're pretty much easy to tackle. I can live with that..

Hey, I have a suggestion for videos: 1. A video of the single best figures for specific characters, ie. Best single (non Hot Toys) Spider-Man, Superman, Batman, Goku, Robocop, etc etc. 2. A series of videos, each dedicated to the 10 best figures for a specific character. So a single video dedicated to Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Goku, etc etc Great stuff, keep it up

Great review. I am waiting for mafex Boba Fett, since this is one of the nicest looking figure I have yet seen of this character and in this scale. It looks so realistic. At this point however, I am a little worried they may yet again screw up the quality control so it won't matter how good its going to look like.... It's such a shame, becasue they are releasing some really impressive figures (especially considering the price), and yet they shoot themselves in the foot with the lack of proper QA team in the factory.

Thanx another great review. I've been waiting for this and Superman figures from MAFEX.i guess I can somewhat overlook both figure's capes I can always try to replace them, specially for Batman since I always pose my Batman with his capes draped around him. What worries me is the stuck waits joint for this one and the forearms switched for Superman. As much as possible I don't like taking apart figures unless it's really necessary fearing they'll break but I guess I can always try to do it extremely careful.

I agree with most points but this time I do not agree with the final verdict (a recommendation). I've been here long enough so I know how your reviews work, so yeah, I know you gave us enough info to decide on our own. On one hand, I think this might be one of the best MAFEX so far and I'd honestly buy it on sale but it's hard to see it as a good enough product mainly because of what kind of QC issues it presents and the fact that not everyone will be able to avoid breaking the torso (or any other joint for that matter) even if they're careful. The other big thing is the fact that in most of the reviews I've seen, the eyes vary from "decent" to "fucked up" and that's a huge problem to me when the figure only comes with one head. Other flaws such as a slightly narrow chest or the cape's material are quite more bearable. So in the end, I think it's a step into the right direction but still a risky buy if your budget for this hobby is limited.

My copy falls apart out of the box, left arm never stays on and my right foot ankle peg literally broke immediately. It's too bad cuz the sculpt is simply awesome. I also love to the cape personally. Extremely poseable

No it's not a bootleg and the dealer whom I buy many products is ac highly rated and respected seller. I own 3 MAFEX pieces and all of them suffer from quality control issues. It's a shame because the sculpt and paint are exceptional. I fixed my Batman but I shouldn't have to. It's an awesome piece to view however, I great it much like a statue

my figure doesn't have any breakage which I'm super happy about. I've seen so many mafex figures break so I've never bought one. Only thing I hate about this figure are the shoulders and the left eye on mine is red around the pupil. looks like hes stoned, other than that I like it.

I think that the DC Collectibles' sculpt looks more accurate since it makes him look more bulked up. AND it comes with more accessories. So I just might get both, then sell the one that isn't as good on eBay lol.

I was going to buy this until I got my mafex batman from dark knight rises, and the neck peg was broken out of the box, then the company wanted to charge me $20 for a new neck joint, $20 just to send me a new neck joint! After that I was done with mafex

I think dc collectibles will have the best sculpt and material designs seeing as they are doing the figures themselves and with the factory they are producing them out of. They also are developing new ways to best articulate the figure. It's a very good looking figure for now. Still waiting for that dc films line though. Big problem with Mattel is that they are very cookie cutter with there figures and how they move. Play arts gets a bit to heavy handed with the stylization, which doesn't work well when portraying live action characters but good for anime, where the design warrants the styling.

i dont agree with 2 of your bummers . One the next being too thick , its actually screen accurate so what can you do? thats their intent . 2. the cape being just there, like you did say the plastic ones do the same BUT this is a plus! i would take this cape every time over any plastic cape because it don't hinder articulation and you can pose the cape which you can't with a plastic cape . CONTINUE....

yes. japanese. and almost every figure they put out has moderate to sever breakage/qc issues. they have terrible cs and usually wont help. neca stuff might occasionally have a problem and their cs is great and will almost always help.
