For a playarts variant it is not over-designed but as a wolverine this is waay over-designed. However imo, that is what makes this figures looks freakin' awesome. I personally like this

I LOVE THIS WOLVERINE.... It's a must have in my collection. I LOVE the way how Play Arts Kai gave WOLVERINE a NEW & IMPROVE look. They are some sayings that they could have been proved on. But I don't see no big deals.

wow that hinge ballpeg torso is done well! no gaps! pretty good! I would've liked to have the claws spread out more at an angle vs being all straight and clustered. marvel vs capcom style. thanks for the review! I usually watch your reviews before deciding to pay for these!

Agreed about the claws. Also, I know it's intentionally stylized but I never really liked claws that are longer than the forearm on Wolverine figures. Just a nitpick, but they wouldn't fit when retracted (since his wrist would need to be able to move).

Mitch Boyer Yea the claws dont look great. Way too long and the curvature on them is weird. They were designed kind of like a Katana which are fairly straight and then begin to curve near the end. Which just feels weird to me, they should be relatively straight since they come straight out from the knuckles. Also im just not a fan of this design. Despite what Anothony thinks, this suit IS overdesigned. Granted, not as overdesigned as other variant figures but it still looks too busy. The classic blue and yellow costume was silly but it worked because it was simple. Making it all armor plated with jagged edges and unnecessary padding just makes it feel like bad cosplay.

Ninja Goobie to each their own about this figure being overdesigned. imo it's just right. it's what I've expected of the pak designs. I tend to base my decisions w pak on articulation which Anthony reviews really well and I'm glad this one's got few issues

This is the best Wolverine ever. It's the old, short, buff, angry Wolverine from those awesome Capcom games like _Children of The Atom_ (Berserker Barrage!). Not the newer, taller, Hugh Jackman one. I love how he has a similar face mask to batman at the nose and face too.

Cool figure! I can see why people might thing it's a bit overdesigned. There's a strange looking muscle or set of muscles in the upper arm that I don't quite get. Love the options you have with it though! Really awesome posing there.

Maybe I'm thinking more like that the deltoid muscle looks like it's in three overly large lobes. You know what? Scratch that. After some research, it seems like body builders can in fact get that kind of look with their deltoid muscles. My bad!

I think this figure might be my favorite Play Arts figure to date. I saw him and Deadpool before they were painted and I KNEW I wanted DP (pause) so I pre-ordered him, but I was on the fence about Wolvie. After they painted him I didn't want him, but ended up picking him up at a show on sale. He was SO WELL DONE, that when Deadpool arrived I was super disappointed with him because of how well Wolverine was executed.

Thanks for reviewing it! I once said that play arts kai seems to be improving since final fantasy cloud and sephiroth reboot announced. It looks better, looks more robust and solid, the design seems not too complicated for the variants, and for FF franchise it seems quite accurate. I don't know about the main boys at FF 15, but it seems lunafreya and upcoming aranea highwind looks very good. Cloud, sephiroth, lunafreya, aranea, wolverine, deadpool, dr. strrange, tetsuya nomura joker, these looks so damn fine imo, i'm happy about play arts kai seems to be improving their action figure game. And your last 3 review about deadpool, wolverine, and cloud proves it right, more or less.

The only thing that I've always complain about any wolverine designs (figures or drawings) is how the claws are longer (in some cases much longer) than his forearms. That to me is as basic as him being short. Aside from that this figure does look fantastic

I've received my bootleg wolverine today (bought it for $8.5 with free shipping lol). Paintjob is really messy, especially at the torso and biceps. But all joints are functional. I'ts like an evaluation version).

Not crazy about Wolverine nor the Marvel Variants line overall, but this figure looks great.The yellow paint on this, simply superb! Only one gripe with this figure: no need for the black details on his gloves. Asthetically, reminds me way too much of the Batman/Wolverine mash-up from the 90's. Nevertheless, I think this one may be worth the price.

the thigh cut is great for pictures. It help get the shot you need by turning the leg you don't see in the picture. quit complaining about that bro. just don't use it. It doesn't change the look like the wrist gap. It's not noticeable unless you turn it
