Solomon Grundy is dead so to me that disqualifies him. Another thing how strong would Wolverines healing be without the metal in his body that is actually slowly weakening and killing him? His healing factor is so strong that most characters with healing would still die from the metal poisoning. So without the metal he may not be as powerful but specifically his healing might make him damn near immortal.

There is a major plot hole in this healing factor thing. Some healing factors have been explained that the healing is limited to the part of the body that is connected to the brain or heart. This meaning that if an arm is lost, they can grow a new arm, but the arm can't grow a new body. So here we keep hearing about coming back from a drop of blood. What is stopping multiple new characters coming back every time they bleed or lose an arm?

Which body part is determined to be the "core" that they will grow back from? Also, for those who say Sabertooths healing is better than Wolverine that depends on how you look at it. Sabertooth I believe doesn’t have the complete metal Skelton so he is not inhibited by the metal poisoning like Wolverine. Further Savertooth has also given in to his feral nature which if Wolverine did would make him much stronger but less human.

as stories stand they have "switched around" quite often on who's is more powerfull. most of the time Sabertooths works a little faster, most likely due to him allowing his feral side to come out and Wolverine does not. We have seen issues where he becomes more beast than man, and at those times, his healing is off the chart

Well, we can make a case for both winning. I mean, it's obvious creeper has many ways of taking down the predator through stabbing and slashing but his speed is what gives him the edge in my opinion and he operates most times in the air, which is difficult to tag. On the other hand, predators weapons are truly advanced and engineered to take out many life forms and of course he has his invisibility which will be hard for the creeper. Bottom line, creeper has speed and flight while predator has invisibility and weaponry. So, depends on who has the first bite at the cherry. PS: predator has prep time on his side too if that is considered. With prep, he has taking on a full hoard of aliens and elite soldiers alike. Good luck creeper getting out of his unbreakable shrinking net that can hack to pieces. Note: creepers healing factor is tied to what he takes or eats from his victims. So how do u take or eat anything when you are in pieces? Food for thought. I take a bow!

IMO Deadpool should be higher on the list. Dude grew a second self from his head while his body grew a new head. Also when the scrull tried to transfer his healing factor onto volunteer scrulls, those died from healing too much because there was no cancer that keeps the healing in check. This means Deadpool is the only character who possesses a healing factor that is potentially strong enough to be harmfull to himself.

I think Doomsday has the greatest healing factor as he evolves from being hurt to become immune to the damage (he also evolves towards offensive capabilities). The way characters are scaled up in comics, he could evolve to being some sort of galactic power that surpasses Doctor Manhattan. Basically plot armor has allowed Superman to defeat him since his first defeat. Doomsday "should" surpass Superman who is really powerful, and then keep going from there.

I agree with others who have stated some on this list do not have good healing factor but healing abilities which are different. Like the way Dr Strange can heal a wound with his magic, its not the same as a healing factor. Anybody using cosmic healing or energy based healing is the same as well. And characters who cannot die do to being rejected from death is not a healing factor as well. This is simply giving time for your natural healing to do its thing because you cannot die.

I feel it's wrong to attribute healing to Ra's al Ghul by the lazarus pits, sure in most canons he is the one that found the "first one", but it is not a power that he holds, the pits have surfaced at a few key points around the earth (as atleast by New Earth's Origin, it is something that spawns from the globe). for X-23's case, wasn't it said that, the sample of wolverine was damaged, and they explained that it was primarily the Y chromosomes that were damaged, so they opted for just using the X chromosomes from his samples? I would also like to say, deadpool's healing factor is the same as Wolverine's, at least from what I remember, Deadpools literal powers comes from injecting a serum that contained wolverine's blood into his body. I would also like to state that, whilst in some comics it's true Wolvies healing factor is capped and can be "overworked" you also have the issues where (not an alternativ form of story) when his adamantium was ripped out, the true potence of his healing factor came forth.. dude becomes a feral healing machine, whilst his durability might've taken a hit, his healing factor went off the chart in those issues. more or less more beast than man at those points

I was willing to waiver with your list until I saw dr manhattan at #1. I wouldn’t say he has a “healing factor” it could be described as that, but he’s just comprised of pure energy. There is nothing that can heal. It also goes to say that Deadpool and Wolverine have both returned from a molecular state which almost no one in comics has done except for maybe Lobo and I think one other person on this list you mentioned. Also I would go as far to say that just because you can return from death doesn’t put you near the top of the list. Sentry is more like Superman he is invulnerable him dying and coming back is just the cycle. You could almost say the same about the hulk. But the reason he is so durable is actually also his healing factor, but I wouldn’t say it’s as good as Deadpool

Sentry should be 2nd or tied 1st. He can come back from anything in seconds. Someone travelled back in time and killed him before he became Sentry and he came back in mere moments after disappearing in the timeline!

What about Superman? Technically he doesn't have a healing factor, but he has been severely injured as well as of course killed. Often with sun's radiation healing him.

Not to be nitpicky, but I believe some of these are confusing actual regeneration with resurrection/reincarnation or strong druabilty. The characters like deadpool and Lobo that heal from a single drop of blood or a single atom is where I think regeneration ends. If they're coming back from nothing thats either resurrection/reincarnation or just immortality. Also i feel like having cosmic godly charcaters like Dr Manhattan on the list is cheating. Pretty much every cosmic being can just will themsleves back from complete erasure. Like the top 10 list would START with dr manhattan if we're including characters on his level.

Nah, Doomsday's healing factor doesn't come close to Hulk's, Lobo's or Sentry's and he doesn't have as many instant healing feats as them.

Actually doomsday doesn't have a strong healing factor but death factor. Superman literally killed him by ripping him in half, if you take his head off he is dead until he resurect after months or even years adaptation

Healing is a natural ability so the best character with this inherent abiliity is Sentry, Hulk and Deadpool.
