Great job showing us the tools and effects of AI. It really doesn’t matter the final edit because each of us has our own style and it’s so subjective. I like your presentation mostly because of the speed and consistency of your explanations and use of tools. Well done.

My main thoughts are about the range of tools at our disposal to do similar things - it all depends on your thought processes and what your focus on as you edit - sometimes more global adjustments, sometimes more specific aspects of the image. Thanks for the talk/walk through.

Another useful feature is to look at the edit history. You might find a particular part of the edit you want to "roll" it back to. Happy holidays Anthony!

Hi Anthony .... very useful and instructive! These full edits are excellent teaching. I'm a bit confused at the 15:20-23 part of the video. There seems to be a bit missing between the application of the circular radial mask and the elliptical rad. mask. Is this the same mask reshaped? You mention ha you used a couple of rad. masks, but I can only see one local masking filter open. I was under the impression that to apply additional masks, we would need to open another local masking filter/page. Are you able to clarify for me, please? In the meantime, I'll experiment on one of my images. Many thanks. Andrew
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew. You're right the video recording glitched. The radial mask was applied a couple of times. You can use the linear, radial and paintbrush tools all in conjunction on one layer to perfect the mask.

Many thanks, Anthony. I'm starting to get a handle on how the local masks work. Much appreciated!

Hi Anthony, I think you could lose those rays in the sky, and instead increase the sun glow, etc. Forget the sunrays, just include the sun!

You could well be right there Felix. I'm not convinced of the rays myself!

Good presentation. I don’t believe dark cloud would have that much effect on the sand color bottom right. Maybe it would tone down the warmth a little, but it is nowhere near equal to the power of the sun on the sand.

Fair enough.

What I think that makes you different from other similar channels is that when you are explaining the sliders, you go all the way... Meaning that you say everything that needs to be said in order to use that slider to it's full value

Hey Anthony. I’m going to be honest hoping you accept my feedback with open arms. Like: freestyle edit. The much touted template concept by Skylum has proven a failure simply because the AI keeps recommending the same recipes for any landscape photo instead of making brand new recipe as was advertised or at least as it was misled to us by Skylum. So I like what you said about not being influenced by a template. I also like and learned from your effective use of the sun rays, radial mask and the mystical/Orton combo. Dislike: too much definition and structure in the sky RH corner and the sand. It doesn’t look good and that blue dark sky feels like chocking. The sand is so rugged and I don’t like the color pallet from dark blue to purple in the sand. Instead I feel the color pallets on the LH applied to the entire sand would look better. Again this is my opinion and you don’t have to agree with it.

Heya Aeroman. I ALWAYS appreciate feedback. Providing it's respectful, we're all entitled to our opinions - and to be honest with regards to the edit - I reckon you're right and I'd probably do it very differently if I approached it again. I just wanted to try a freestyle + recording. Cheers for your thoughts on it and taking the time to let me know :) Much appreciated and all the best for the Holiday Season!
