I just bought Luminar AI and must admit it’s an incredible powerful tool that will become the real game-changer I was actually looking for! Looking to tutorials of Anthony is a very useful way to get started. The way these tutorials are made are an example for a lot of other ... well structured, easy to understand and bringing a lot more info then simple taking us to the .technical parts’ of the software. That’s why I do appreciate this longer videos. On the other hand, sometimes it’s more interesting to simply dive into a single subject. To much info can lead to confusion or overload. To my opinion, both way to approach tutorials can have their specific advantages. E.g. this tutorial about landscape editing, was perfect to be explained in a longer version. But explaining e.g. curves or masking could be a perfect subject to be explained separately in another video, focussed only on that subject. So to my opinion, you’re doing a wonderful job! Keep up the good spirit! See you soon ... !

It was interesting to see you change directions during this edit. Initially, you brought more detail out in the mountains, and then changed that by increasing the haze over the top of it. I do this a lot. For me, the crop at the end helped but I felt the cloud was out of place. I also appreciate the tip where you turned the saturation all the way up, adjusted the hue, and then turned the saturation back down. I haven't seen that done before.

Hi Anthony. I've viewed this video several times and paused them several times to take detailed notes. It's a very detailed and thorough video. I'm having problems understanding how Local Masking works. Do you anticipate making a video concentrated exclusively on this tool? That would be great for me. I see a lot of potential in enhancing my pictures using Local Masking. Thanks in advance.
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful Omar! I'm sure I'll be working more with local masks in future videos. Yes, they're very useful and well worth learning/
@phlotographer4 жыл бұрын
be sure to read the manual for LAi. manual.skylum.com/ also, basically what a mask does is to say to the program, "I want you to apply or with "invert" don't apply to this area a particular effect (selection) . eg. while AT did not because of his concept, when he did the last sky adjustment, to me and maybe just me, a mask for just the dark area to tone it down a touch but leave the highlighted clouds with more density could be done with a local mask by masking over the dark sky and then reducing its saturation like AT did. This could be done with any one of the three choices that are offered as to types of applying the effect.
@jamessulester3 жыл бұрын
Fine but for the white specks near the river could have been toned down slightly w selective brushing
@hailzgeoff4 жыл бұрын
Great video. Liked the length as it showed us how you used the tools to match your thoughts as you through developed the image you wanted. . For me, that's better than a "this tool does this" sort of tutorial. I've no problem with adding the cloud - clouds occur naturally. It's not like you've added another mountain. Personally, I think you've over cooked the edits by bringing up the details in the foreground- there is a moodiness in the original which I think has gone now ...... but that bottom slider is always there! I learnt some stuff, so thanks for posting.
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Cheers Geoff. Brilliant feedback.
@felixthecat18824 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony, yes the cloud does make a difference, but the sky looks too desaturated, a bit of blue/cyan would have been nicer! More saturation/vibrancy in the sky would have been better. The orange/green fore and middle grounds are perfect though, and your crop helped draw my eye along the stream and into the mountains, whereas previously it was a bit off centre. The path too, which you erased, was a big distraction. Can't wait for more tutorials. Regards, Felix the Cat. By the way Anthony, which camera did you use to take that photo?
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Hi Felix, agreed I think the sky needed a smidge more blue/cyan. I've since gone back and done that in the edit. I believe this one was from my Nikon D800.
@felixthecat18824 жыл бұрын
@@AnthonyTurnham Ah I prefer Canon cameras because their censors give a warmer tone to their pictures than Nikon, which renders photos with a slight blue/green tint.
