Euphoria is one of my all time favorites! I played it to death.

It's 2024 and THIS was the album that took me from pop-hard-rock radio songs (Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Cinderella) to listening to FULL albums and diggin' into a whole band's discography. For years it was my absolute favorite album of all time! Still cannot believe they don't play 4-6 songs off this masterpiece (NOT including AntiSocial) on EVERY Tour! This is the record that defined me going from child to adolescent!

You can't improve on this album, it's a perfect document of where Anthrax was at the time.

Well, that explains why I always thought something was lacking from State of Euphoria. From the day it came out and I first listened to it, I really enjoyed it, killer songs, great grooves, catchy lyrics; but, I always felt like it could have been better. Thanks for another history lesson. Bring on episode 12.

My childhood friend, who was on-trend with music, * had "State of Euphoria" on cassette. This was my introduction to Anthrax. We would've be 10-11 at the time. Most memorable to me was the brightly-colored cover art, the cello intro to "Be All, End All", and "Schism", but mostly for its title. I would go on to purchase "Persistence of Time" on CD. * He was big into hair metal, most likely due to its popularity. When acts such as Vanilla Ice and Bell Biv DeVoe became popular -- for context, we grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana -- he abruptly jumped ship and made the switch. Thus, I never really knew what he was truly a fan of. I stayed the course.

Charlie...if this unsatisfied feeling still persists regarding the album, you guys should do now what you wish you could have done back then. Then, after tweaking the songs, release it as STATE OF TWO-PHORIA.

The original version of Anti-Social is almost like a new wave song ; it's out of that era of punk that wasn't quite as guitar-centric. What Anthrax did with it was more "traditional" punk but mixed with metal things as well, and it really dialed up the adrenaline to a manic level, kind of unlocking a potential in the original song that the original didn't quite reach. That main riff... my god.... I was obsessed with that for a while.

First song I ever played on “drums” (kick snare tom that I traded a bike for) was Mamakin in the early 80s. Once the bpms started to rise I felt more and more at home. Fast forward to now and I remember every single nuance of every damn anthrax (and most other) albums. The other 3 bands of the day we’re super-inspirational but something about the anthrax records stuck like hell

State of Euphoria introduced me to thrash back in the day. I was blown away and still love it. Hearing it for the first time is one of my favorite childhood memories. I was 12 years old when it was released and I bought it with my school lunch money on a whim. It literally changed my life by putting me on a new musical path.

I watched Blue Velvet for the first time a few years ago and I couldn't believe it when I realised that's where Now It's Dark came from. Then came the "warm fucking beer" speech sampled on Mr Bungle's first record! I'm sure they're not the only well know bands influenced by that film.

I really like this album only thing I wasn’t crazy bout was the yellow funny looking album cover . It looked silly IMO It reminds me of the bad artwork of the first album .This is one of my top 5 Anthrax albums . The intro is classic & songs are heavy as hell ... Thank you.

I remember seeing Blue Velvet for the first time, a year or two after this album came out. I had no idea where the song came from, until key moments in the film arrived.... that was really exciting and cool for me. What a psychotic character to base a song around!

"13".... I thought that thing was hilarious. I want to hear what all the inside jokes are in that song. A few years ago I finally heard "Peace Dog" by the Cult... and I laughed my ass off. I didn't know what was coming, but I recognized it as soon as I heard it. Finally the chanting from "13" had context.

Another tune Anthrax should cover a la “Anthems” is “Don’t Fight It” by Kenny Loggins and Steve Perry. Heard it the other day for the first time in years and thought, “wow anthrax could really do a killer version of this”.

It kind of bothers me when bands that I admire openly admit that they put out an inferior product to their fans. If they knew that only half the songs on state of euphoria were good, why didn't they charge half of the list price instead of standard MSRP? Or just make it another EP. Can we get a retroactive refund guys? Or credit towards the next album?
