Route cause of asthma is hypersensitivity of bronchial tract which results in bronchoconstriction. So primary therapy is inhaled steroids as anti-inflammatory and bronchodilators. Histamine is also a mediator of inflammation. So anti-histamines are also prescribed, if required, as an add on therapy, in combination with other drugs.
