💯 on the protective glasses! Last month I was filing off encapsulated glitter and a chunk of glitter flew right in the corner of my eye! Had it hit my eye ball it would have definitely cut or scratched it. I got so lucky!

If you’re calling asking for a dry manicure, they may not understand what you’re asking for. This is a gel manicure (which are all done dry.) You’d ask for a full set, gel manicure.

I can help find you a capable tech near you if you’d like. Also helps to know what to ask for; for instance this set is called Aurora nails, or ice nails. It’s gel manicure with a “mermaid”, or iridescent powder (not chrome powder). Buying and doing it for yourself is pretty cheap if you know where to shop.

I love these! I didn’t know the chrome powder was put on top of a non stick top coat 🤯 I always thought it needed something to stick to, no wonder mine got a little clumpy. 🥴 definitely trying this next time. But how does the chrome not get stuck to the brush when you add another layer of top coat after?
@shukriehasan84603 жыл бұрын
You can brush off the excess powder to make sure that nothing will transfer to the gel polish.

Awesome video! Love how beautiful simple chrome nails look ❤️ So why do the builder gel? Instead of gel base coat -> no wipe top coat -> chrome -> top coat? I've been into gel for a little bit, gotten more into it in the last year ish for nail art reasons mostly. I recently bought builder gel to try the aurora nails I saw a nice video on! If you reply, thank you ❤️
@SusanIvanova22573 жыл бұрын
I can only guess but most gel polish systems are soft gels and builder gel is hard gel. And afaik soft nails bending is one of the main causes for chipping polish. I was told in that case a hard gel overlay is the best course of action. So I guess this technique gets you the chipping prevention of the overlay without having to do a full coat of it? Sounds useful for cases where a client maybe doesn't want a hard gel overlay despite chipping problems.
@poketvenus3 жыл бұрын
I do builder gel for overlay protection and then paint with gel polish.

@@poketvenus yeah I bought it for overlay stuff, but she wasn't doing overlay so I was like?????? Interesting!
@Landon-pc1vs3 жыл бұрын
A lot of the times base coats or rubber base coats are just simply more convenient for natural nails, but as another reply said they’re usually soft gel formulas and can have the tendency to be flexible which can interfere with the nails coating. So doing hard gel on the tips basically stops the nail from bending as well as encapsulates the tip of the nail. The tips of natural nails are paper thin usually, so that makes it vulnerable to chips and breakages so having that small amount of hard gel on the tips, as well as overlaying with base coat can really do wonders for long lasting manicures. I hope I’m making at least some sense lol.

Out of curiosity, with the Sun6 do you ever have issues with the outside of thumbs not curing? I have a different sun lamp and no matter how I have my clients position their hands, the outside of their thumbs just do NOT cure, but the lights don't come down very far in the lamp that I have, and the bottom plate is also black. I've just been looking for a new lamp and one that doesn't do this with thumbs lol
