To me your expecting Burton to stick to his back ground, I fell that this is the way forward for Burton and I fully support him. And yes Burton can my play an instrument. As the biggest guitar parts on Ascension of the watchers album apocrypha is done by burton.

"it doesn't sound like fear factory." He's not trying to sound like Fear Factory. It sounds more groove and gothic because that more so lines up with Burton's tastes musically. It's definitely a niche song. It's very minimalistic when it comes to composition. I think the song is mostly Burton's way of telling his fans in metal that he's still around. He's still doing the harsh vocals. the production. the writing. the creativity. Shit that is, honestly, in question for Fear Factory now that he's gone. Are they gonna have the writing chops without Burton? We'll see. I don't think this song is meant to be catchy, and hooky. I think it's really just a commentary from Burton. and he likely didn't expect everyone to get it.
