Heavy on the buy what you like, I bought the Radiomir Master after saving for ten years. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. I even flew from Amsterdam to London, had a coffee, and flew back three hours later just to get it. Even though I'm attached to it, I'm ready to do some research and see what it's worth now.

Great that will fetch you some cash. *I used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $35million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.

How did you grow your portfolio to $45m, I'm impressed, I have a lump sum in the bank, the rates are not impressive so I'm moving it, what's your cash flow like?

I have a financial advisor (trader) she grows my liquid assets and I reinvest the weekly payouts back into real estate and long-term ETFs.

My addition to this conversation is that even though I may be disconnected from the brand due to the closure and modern relaunching of the brand, I still think there is value in owning one and I honestly look forward to it. The design is a piece of art, the watch itself most definitely has romance about it, capturing the history of the watch and most of all, they have fantastic craftsmanship behind them, the movements are really well done and it is a selling point for me.

Great video. Pretty hard to have this hobby today when every major city in the US and a lot in Europe feel dramatically unsafe to wear your watches in. Everyone has to have that watch in their collection, that can go and do anything and that you love as much as you do your other pieces but also you don’t care about handing over to anyone who comes at you for it. Sucks to be honest.

Great topic! Panerai was my first watch love and I really enjoy them. I think the small watch trend is going to be short lived since it's mostly driven my celebrities. Although Panerai gained traction from a celeb as well. Who knows! PS: Wear a G-Shock on vacation in Europe these days. Read Eric Wind's recent post about a woman customer being tackled by three men in Brussels for her Day/Date.

Yes I agree with you about wear what you like. I've been tempted by a Panerai radiomir so many times. Sad to hear you say about being frightened in Europe wearing a nice timepiece. Luckily I live in the countryside in Wales, but, when I visit Birmingham it's never an issue.

Talk about anti-hype. Took my P01 to South America without any worry lol. No one would want to steal this brick. Used the 12 hour bezel to track home. Snorkeled in the Pacific, did wilderness hikes with it. Love the memories associated with it now.

I was drawn in by these size “restrictions” when I first started, and I am over it. Buy a piece for how it looks on your BODY and PERSONALITY that day. Buy it for the part of you that you want to project. Limiting yourself to 38mm pieces because of a wrist-shot takes a lot of fun off of the table

Panerai is certainly fun. My disappointment is that every model in the Luminor & Radiomir lines look the same. Have to look at the Submersibles to get a bit different, but these watches are over $10k.

Exactly why Panerai sank themselves….unlimited limited editions, rehash after rehash and absurd pricing.

Hype has died down? Are Daytonas, Royal Oaks, and the the most popular Pateks freely available for purchase at retail for the masses? Do any of those trade even close to retail price on the secondary market? Hype may not be the behemoth it was a few years ago, but it is clearly alive and well
@masterwatch5 ай бұрын
small and thin..... Noooo.... No.... It is a Major Major No! Panerai please come back... 40mm - 45mm is totally fine 🤓.. and it has to have a power reserve. Actually I am going to stop talking about Panerai.. so I can have the market to myself.

It's ironic the guy talking about hype is dead is an asian guy named Wako with wanna be yakuza tattoos.
