Ely only has a chance to reduce damage, so there's no guarantee wearing it would have actually helped for any of those specs that killed you. Sure, there's a chance, but you could have died all the same even if you got it on in time.

If I remember correctly I think pkers or at least scammers you were fighting could disconnect you and you'd lose connection and you'd still be logged in but it shows the login screen and they kill you lol
