You're assuming that because Gianmarco is Jewish that he's automatically a Zionist when, if you'd done an iota of research before commenting you'd know he is very clearly not OK with what's been going on in Gaza or the way any conversation about it has been called antisemitism. Further, I'm pretty sure Gianmarco isn't a f***ing idiot and never got ON the Trump Train in the first place, so he never had to get off of it.
@jfm14Ай бұрын
@@aesop1451 So you're assuming he's happy Trump won because... he's Jewish? 🤔 Either you're new here or just trolling. Exit polling data varies depending on the source, but it's clear that Jewish voters were once again one of the most overwhelmingly Democrat demographics in this presidential election. Not really surprising considering how blatantly antisemitic Trump is. Even if a large portion of the Jewish community disagrees with Democrat voters as a whole on US Israel policy, they still know that the biggest threat to their safety comes from the right.

He does a double punchline. First, he says his dad does it talking in a Chinese accent at an Asian restaurant. That's funny just by itself. But he added the second punchiline which is they're at an Indian restaurant. The first punchline suggests that his dad is some kind of racist, but the second is that he's not a bright racist. That's comedy.
@kahkah1986Ай бұрын
@@tennisCharlzz I think the point is that the dad is trying to be kind by doing the whole thing in an accent the waiter would find easier to follow, so he's happy he's being neighborly, but he comes over as racist because people assume he's sneering at them and try to cancel him. I grew up watching a german-turkish comedian called Kaya Yanar who did international impressions and he always said "Every culture has the right to be made fun of". Haven't been to any recent shows so I don't know if he still does this but at least back then his audience loved it! The audience was always the wildest mix of nationalities and everytime he mentioned a certain country you would hear someone from there cheer. There was an atmosphere of understanding that we can all laugh about ourselves and one another without putting them down. Again, maybe that's still how it is, I just haven't been in a while. He has some English shows up on KZbin I think if anyone's interested 🎉

From what I hear, such an atmosphere comes about when there is a level of trust created by the comedian with their audience. Trust that the writer knows the truth and can handle irony correctly. Trust that they put craft into the set beyond cheap digs. Trust that an edgy joke does not hold a real razor outside the door. A comedian builds this over a long time by reputation, I think, and by courting and cultivating the right following.

Then the rise of the alt-right and trumpism came along and exposed the world to the fact that there are far more scumbags out there than we assumed. Comedy is just another thing that racists try to ruin. It's good to have people like Gianmarco around who find ways to make us laugh in spite of it.
