Foreigners coming to a country is a privilege, not a right, thus they should behave decently and respectful during their stay, that being said, they have no right to nose around, meddle and engage in any forms of movement or political commentary that is geared anti government in that country while they are staying there because first off, they have no business and knowledge in the history and current affairs that is happening in that foreign country, its totally insulting and disrespectful to the same government that just gave you the visa to come there. Not sure if SG has a similar law, but here in the Philippines, any foreigner (even if its a local with mixed foreign blood or a local that was born and grew abroad; they are labeled a FOREIGNER unless they possess PH local passport) staying in the Philippines that are engaging in any protest or platform that is criticizing the government will be hunted down and immediately be deported and blacklisted from re entry. For those who are still uninformed, Nas Daily is currently in hot waters in the Philippines and drew the ire of many locals due to him and a local translator exploiting an old treasured indigenous tattoo artist there thru highly suspicious contract signing (via thumb mark) that enables him and his team to commercialize the tribe"s tattoo art practice to the world, promising anybody will be able to "master" the tribe's centuries old esoteric tattoo tradition at a measly amount of 20SGD(750PHP) if they went to Nas Academy. I say, always take words coming from the mouths of these so called influencers with the grain of salt, whether they have lots a subs/followers or just on the mid level "popular" as most of the time you are simply watching a CHARACTER and not the actual person, and these people are not acting in good faith.

lol, thanks for shout-out. I assume you guys were talking about me last video who dropped a comment for the algo. you guys are legit good lah, so I definitely want to see you guys succeed. a bit of a long comment here - brad bowyer's words and actions becomes a bit more understandable when you follow the politics in the US and UK. you guys actually touched a little on it when you discussed how the so-called 'conspiracy theorists' just turn out to be right, six months to a year later. because it is moments like these that makes you flip around to start questioning the people who were trying to shut down discourse the whole time, were trying instead to promote their chosen point of view to you, and are what's more now trying to gaslight you (the masses) into forgetting what they were saying to you just a while ago. now imagine that there are people who have realised this sort of shenanigans a long time ago and are trying to speak out against it, but are themselves being shut down. but they have been labelled as the so-called 'conspiracy theorists' or (nowadays) 'far right' 'radicals'. but thing is that if you actually take the step to listen to them, you realise aren't actually that radical (e.g. look at xiaxue being called far right). in fact, a lot of them are moderates, center-left and center-right kind of regular people, just that there's a push to try to get people who aren't paying full attention to not listen to them.. it also actually ties in to what you guys shared about your experience as how as content creators, you need to care about framing and what appeals to the masses, and what you see is specially curated for viewing - now realise that this sort of narrative selection and promotion happens in media too - in news media, and even news media relating to vaccines.. and then consider that in the US, these mainstream outlets have sponsors/backers like big tech, big pharma, etc. that pay their bills, as well as politicians who have lobbies. that's a big part of why people overseas don't trust their govts as much as a lot of singaporeans do ours. then consider also to some extent that singapore is just a little red dot and we often do have to play ball with world powers. anw long story short, it's always very important always to listen to the other side. yes, discard it if it's rubbish, but never take someone else's word for it that a person is a liar/bigot/racist/sexist/homophobe/transphobe/supremacist, etc. always go to the source. don't think brad bowyer is 100% accurate, but he's right in some respects. just listen to the good points and discard the nonsense lah. something as fundamental as a vaccine (being a medical procedure) requires informed consent. and 'informed' means having the opportunity to hear all views, discard the ones that sound off, and then make a decision from there. I also think there's no need to silence him.

GLAD I GAVE THIS SERIES A CHANCE ❤️

i think cancel culture first started out with good intentions, but as most things on the internet has evolved to something that falls more into the ‘grey area’ of whether its good or bad. holding people accountable and all is good, but people are obsessed with the idea of a ‘perfect unproblematic person’ that it becomes detrimental instead. bc lets be honest, nobody can ever be unproblematic. we all say wrong things in life. the worst kind is when they focus so much on the past mistakes, and completely turn a blind eye to how much they’ve progressed and changed to become who they are now. i know its impossible to ask the internet to stop and properly ‘educate’ people instead of just going ‘nope’ to everyone but… can at least try anot ppl. HAHA i think i see this alot in fandom spaces especially - be it between fan and celebrity or even between fans themselves. it just creates a super toxic environment because at some point we just have to accept that some people are always gonna be offensive. no matter how much we ‘cancel’ someone, wont help unless that person wants to change themselves. meh. great discussion as always 😄😄😄

I've always thought discrimination to be an odd topic, people will only call out discrimination if it doesn't sit well with them, but discrimination occurs in everyday life. For example, university admission. Is this a case of discriminating those who are not academically gifted? Criminal offences and punishment, are we discriminating against age and gender now? You talk about people not believing in vaccine passport and thus this treatment is discriminating them. Hypothetically, if I don't believe in giving identifiable information when I'm travelling and refuse to get a passport, is the whole world discriminating against me now? It's a fact that we will always treat certain groups differently from others, whether it is agreeable or not is the whole other issue.

25:25 I don't think there will ever be a cycle (for now at least) because the pandora box has already been opened. To bring people back to the time of heavy censorship will only create a huge backlash. But I love how Singapore took steps to open up slowly.

I feel that it is good that Brad Bowyer brought up this comparison. Although some may say that the Holocaust is a sensitive topic, Singapore looks to be in the beginning stages of such. For vaccination, let’s take New Zealand for example, they only have 1 locally transmitted case in 6 months. For them, only 20% are fully vaccinated. Here, 70% have been fully vaccinated, but we have 50+ local cases a day. So Ong Ye Kung talking about how proud he is that Singapore may be the most vaccinated in the world, the numbers show that it is not something to really be proud of. Singapore will be the experiment, other countries will see how it turns out, good or bad (more likely bad or just useless), and save themselves and let us suffer

Very open discussions, really enjoyed your contents! I think unvaccinated people are not unhappy about the vaccines, we are unhappy simply because the gov said it was not mandatory, and yet the changes every now and then is making is pretty much mandatory. “Be vaccinated or you won’t live like the rest”. I personally don’t care if you choose or choose not to get vaccinated as I’m unvaxxed myself, but well I have my long term concerns when it comes to something new, and also the fact that this vaccine don’t actually stop or reduce transmission significantly. If they claim that the vaccines reduce transmission, then the gov saying it’s normal for higher percentage of vaccinated ppl getting infected as vaccination rates going up, is weird. Keep up the content !! Enjoying the open discussions in Singapore.
