For me it's quite simple actually. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone can fall down. But at the same time anyone can get back up, and anyone can be forgiven for their crimes. It's understandable if they can't be trusted anymore, you'll just have to put on faith that they did, even when theres a possibility that theyll do it again. But then again, the punishment must play a role too. You cant just throw him in jail for many years and expect him to be renewed as a person. The current system lacks the 'lesson' that they need to 'purify' the criminal. Sorry, i dont know much terms so bear with me lol. Cancel culture is so stupid thinking that they're doing the right thing to destroy someone's life completely without regarding whether or not the person has changed. I also think there is another big issue about cancel culture : people conveniently forgetting about issues brought up to the public before. So even if you apologies once and grew from a mistake, someone can still try to bring it up again just to cancel you another time.
