Also everyone in a way is a bad person so isn't it just shifting blaim from yourself or others to one certain person with an audience. Gotta say though mates cancel culture feels a bit Hitlerish in its intentions, "our country is bad because of jews, any who oppose this is jailed or dies". Tell me that doesn't click in some way.

Reminds me of a story I heard about the French revolution. The crowd was starting to think "Hey, maybe chopping the king's head off isn't such a great idea," so they were shouted down until the deed was done. What followed was one of the worst periods in French history.

I like how they say cancel culture was born to fix the flaws happening in the justice system, but cancel culture itself is infinitely more flawed than the justice system. Felix is right in saying they have a childlike way of thinking: for those who agree with cancel culture, every small mistake can be the end of a person; it's all or nothing, from one extreme to the other. For me it's quite simple actually. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone can fall down. But at the same time anyone can get back up, and anyone can be forgiven for their crimes. It's understandable if they can't be trusted anymore, you'll just have to put on faith that they did, even when theres a possibility that theyll do it again. But then again, the punishment must play a role too. You cant just throw him in jail for many years and expect him to be renewed as a person. The current system lacks the 'lesson' that they need to 'purify' the criminal. Sorry, i dont know much terms so bear with me lol. Cancel culture is so stupid thinking that they're doing the right thing to destroy someone's life completely without regarding whether or not the person has changed. I'd like to say these people are just hypocrites who keep bringing up old stories of people but gets pissed if someone mentions their bad past. Forgive and forget, it's not easy, but humans are social creatures. We cant afford fighting each other forever. Whats with these people, smh

Then when a lady decides, 40 years later "I didn't like that sex" cancelled. Seriously? Apparently if I go on an ego kick 20 years later, for one fling as a like 23 year old because apparently the dude was ACTUALLY raping me the whole time I said yes yes yes then I'm in the right. Let's be real, this urrr... this cancel culture and me too thing sorta blend together at this point. And they're infinitely abused, especially by perpetrators who realize they can play the victim. I know this is gonna sound stupid but this is exactly that Gone Girl movie. If she wanted to, she could literally invent everything and then play innocent.

Well he loves Greek Philosopical books. You could tell that his humbleness came from reading Greek philosopy. He is also a great thinker of Memento mori and pretty much finds the beauty and happiness in the nature of Death. I could tell that he has an optimistic nihilistic view in life as he said that "the world is not fair". Having these kinds of knowledge will truly change your perspective in life and Felix perfected it. He's definitely that kind of person that would ask you to be happy in his funeral and not be sad. Be happy because I've lived long enough to meet you, for you to meet me. My existence never mattered as I am deemed to last as a memory.

One quote I will always remember from my history teacher that always stuck with me was 'To judge the past by our current standards is a mistake that will call into question your own past when the time comes. So if you believe yourself a saint then by all means judge, but even those looked up to in history have things they could be called out for today.' Just learning about anyone in history you come to realise they were all wrong in one way or another. Society grows and changes and so do their moralities. Who knows maybe in the near future how we treats pigs on farms will be looked on as barbaric. Cancel culture is just eliminating any sort of thought into how we change as a people and immedietly destroying the lives of our fellow humans for trivial past mistakes.

I also think there is another big issue about cancel culture : people conveniently forgetting about issues brought up to the public before. So even if you apologies once and grew from a mistake, someone can still try to bring it up again just to cancel you another time. It brings the question of how many times am I going to pay for that mistake that I've already apologize for. It's crazy to me.
@ralucaioana627
@ralucaioana627 4 жыл бұрын
true, but most of the time the apologies are not sincere. And just writing a few sorry words in a doc file isnt gonna prove anything. What I think people should do is to give them time to prove themselves they-ve grown and are truly sorry. Just saying sorry so people would shut up about it and to play the ”ive already apologized for that why u still brining it up card” card isnt going to do anything.

@@ralucaioana627 Ya that's how I like to treat things when I can (especially with the Shane and Jenna stuff because I never watched their videos). Like when Pewdiepie was making too edgy of jokes or saying offensive slurs I kinda just said "welp I'm gonna see how he turns out because I am not down with what he's saying." and he grew a lot and I like his content a lot now. I hope more people start doing this when the issues can be addressed by the creator and they can grow as a person.

The problem is lesser subscibed people have had their channels removed and banned for lesser reasons than Shane Dawson or Onision or David Dobrik are being cancelled for. KZbin couldn't give a shit if it's making them money 'Eugenia Cooney' but if it's a small channel they're fucked off straight away. We're basically saying pedophile jokes at the expense of a victim, anorexia suffering and being actually racist are absolutely fine if you have money and make KZbin money. Baring in mind KZbin's largest audience are naive teenagers. Thank god they can recognise shitty human behaviour but it should NOT be on KZbin.

Someone in your community post about Jenna said this (something like this) Canceling someone for doing something in the past is like punishing your 17 year old for something they did when they were 5 You can hold them accountable for what they did and they can apologize, but you don’t have to go out of their way ruin their entire life

punishing someone who’s above the age gap of 15 and knew what they were doing is not the same as punishing a 5 year old. people have education for a reason.

But Jenna wasn't cancelled tho, the reason Jenna decided to talk about accountability is because people always compared her to other youtubers that were problematic. Jenna wanted to say that she wasn't unproblematic, that she has done things in the past that she isn't proud of, and coming clean is a way of taking accountability by herself because she thought it was the right thing to do.

@@jeremymanwaring5934 His point was punishing people for what they did when they were little irrational and stupid. Imagine people got triggered by tweets made by jaden smith back when he was 12 or so and demanding him to be cancelled now.

I would be fine if they are punished. In reality it's more like the 17 year old being banished by the parents. There has to be a difference between punishing and banishing
