As a divorced woman who has gotten back together with my first serious boyfriend after decades apart, I can say what you are both saying is totally correct. My first marriage became a war of both of us competing to be the more masculine, largely because I felt unappreciated and traumatised. This time around I am more confident in myself and more comfortable in my feminine side so I don’t need to compete with him. I treat him like a king and he treats me like his queen. Perfect.

If she nag its Time for her to leave 😂
@lalailm4 ай бұрын
@@Beela2020you are probably right. If a man sees a woman expressing her needs as “nagging” and doesn’t hear her or do anything to change, then she probably needs to leave. She needs to realize he is not going to give her what she needs. Ever! And he needs to understand she is not going to simply stop asking for what she needs
@Jan-f8w2 ай бұрын
TRUTH: Likely it's him who needs to leave because: SHE DOES NOT LIKE HIM. Nobody biches all the time at someone they care about. HE IS HER MEAL TICKET, CONNECTION TO "COUPLES" LIFESTYLE/ OTHER. He could be using her too, and has to just take it or get out.

It's more meaningful to me as a wife what my husband does for me then what he says, if he has a good attitude and serves and blesses then his words are meaningful. And when a woman talks and shares her emotions, she doesn't want to be fixed. So a man can be a hero, just simply by listening to her with interest.

Be careful. I had a girlfriend who I went above and beyond for and she still accused me of not doing anything for her. I found out she was an ingrate who just ignored the efforts I was making. My advice, look very hard and long in the mirror. If you are in fact being wronged as you say, then tell him how you feel. If you find areas where he’s done things for you which you never took the time to express appreciation for, let him know you appreciate those things when he does them. Then tell him, “I would really appreciate it if you did … for me too” Often times men are happy to provide whatever you need. We just don’t read minds.

The issue discussed around 30 minutes in…I got drunk in front of him. I drank something I never had before, didn’t know the proof on the cooler, and acted a fool. He pulled away. Contrary to that day, I’m not a drinker. I’ll have half a glass of wine, if that, about 2-3 times a year. I just don’t like alcohol and feel great without it. Anyway, that day he really questioned who I was. It was a horrible feeling and I apologized so much about it. I allow him to be in his masculine and I thrive in my feminine. We’re about to move in together after a year of being together. We don’t fight, there’s so much care and respect both ways. We’re both rebuilding our lives and families together after each of our ex’s took everything from us. We’re both healthy and happy and fulfill the others life. I’m very grateful for this man. The point is, we ladies just don’t like to take responsibility when we mess up. However, that’s the key to a healthy relationship. On both sides ❤

I'm in a 6 months situationship w my ex boyfriend from 20 years ago. We've both admitted this last week STILL loving the other person and don't see that changing. I'm letting him know he IS my hero. He wants to be the one I can turn to for whatever human interactions I need... He's avoidant attachment and actually SAYING this stuff now, after I went "vulnerable" and was brutally honest about my anxious issues from my own anxious attachment. 😅 It's working, and taking time and space has helped. Eventually I hope he gets that he always has been able to be everything I wanted and needed from a man - now to scare our 18 year old daughter that we actually like one another 😅 We both ended up in bad relationships in the past 20 years, wishing we were with the other but giving up and taking whatever we found instead. Now? We shall see what happens long term.

Hi. Not sure this will help, but there's someone named Adam Lane Smith who specializes in male Avoidants. He has a lot of videos posted on his KZbin channel.
@medievallady6 ай бұрын
Situationships are never a good thing to be in. As you said he's avoidant or he might have never wanted you for real that's why the only thing he wanted with you is a situationship because he is not willing to open his heart to you and invest for real. Relationships end for a reason and if you are letting him have the benefits of a relationship without him even committing to you, then you don't respect yourself and you seem desperate to be with him. And he also doesn't respect you if he can tell you he loves you but still doesn't want to be in a fully committed relationship with you
@Buggzter-n-Gallade6 ай бұрын
@ClaudiaM-om4em In some ways, but the BIG issue is we've barely communicated in a deep level for most of the last 20 years. I was married for 13 of them, and we legit only reconnected and started talking at ALL in the last 6. It's a process, and a slow learning to trust again. That's what it boils down to - we are both working through past hurts, seeing each other only every 2 weeks due to life and distance. We'll get there. But he's avoidant, aka has a DIFFICULT time opening up. :) Good luck on your end!

I would also put forth the idea that women put up these protective, drawing inward mechanisms, to fit in with other women, peer groups, family. It’s not always about men and I’d venture to say that most of the time it has nothing to do with men. It was never my father that put me and my two sisters against each other in the looks competition . It was my mother. It was never my male friends that insulted my looks as a teenager to make themselves feel better because all they had were giant breasts and I had the model figure, it was my female friends. It was always the females guests that would give me nasty looks as they caught their husbands looking at me, they weren’t getting on to their husbands. This is my experience, however, I doubt I’m the only one. Females do this to other females from their place of insecurity.

The part about radiance and openness is so true. I look (I think) mostly the same as I have for years. But when I started feeling more confident, happy, and open, suddenly I started receiving attention a lot. It took a lot of inner work to get there! I loved those last few minutes examining the *strengths* that previous generations offered. It’s important to acknowledge that.

I'm an artist. My hair is blue (fun color, maybe a bit crazy for some, but i like it!). I work at a restaurant in my neighborood. I am glad to have this job, that's not what i had imagined for me, but it still provides security and it fulfills my needs for connexions and community. I love my passions (art , astrology, the pyramids, esoteric subjects...) and yet it feels very solitary. We need balance in our lives... Waiting for a partner to fulfill my need for community never worked for me... I don't see myself staying at home all the time, i need recognition from the others, outside my bubble... i see myself as a balanced person. I have both masculine and feminine energies, and i need them both to feel good within myself. I have met a lot of people in my life, and what strikes me the most is how people are polarized toward one type of energy only, leaving the rest in the dark... a lot of people find it difficult to live a balanced life, i think.

My love language that I need is words of affirmation. Acts of service was lower on my list. His also was affirmations, which I provided constantly. But…I will heed your advice and look out for a man’s actions more readily. In the last relationship, I complained that he never gave me words of affirmation….I had to pry even after telling him how important it was to me. And he complained that simply providing me with some everyday resources and fixing things was enough (acts of service). I did appreciate the fixing and resources and expressed that. Needless to say, though, we felt like roommates without any passion and it did not work out. It wore on me that he never met in the middle and it ended up feeling like work.

So now I don't feel guilty anymore for t feeling that way that way.

When I asked him about it, he got more angry. Years later, I saw that he was imagining I was doing or saying the negative self talk in his head…stuff I had no connection with. He couldn’t separate his perception of me from his negative self talk. Should a wife ask him about it, and try to create a reconnection …or wait for him to open up on his own?

I don't understand why either one has to bring someone else into it, when the situation belongs to the couple it should be the couple working it out !!! Now if one if them refuses to listen or cooperate together with the other one, then it's time to talk to a friend or councilor !!!

Any examples of movie characters of a radiant flowing woman, emotional mature and receptive to masculine devotion. I would love to see a show where you two discuss various woman movie characters from this perspective.

I think you are wrong about the.exposing feelings part. I want to know if work is going wrong, I want to know his fear. My fiance started drinking to hide things not going great and when I ask I get it's fine! Ugh
