Thank you so much for posting this. I was given one 12 years ago for no good reason (a "possible" infection... turned out I didn't have one) and it turned from an athletic, fit individual to living in an electric wheelchair for years! I'm lucky that I've slowly and partially (not fully) recovered enough that I don't need a wheelchair anymore. It's criminal that these are handed out like candy.

I felt like my body was shaking uncontrollably after 3 doses. Later, my left foot's perineal tendon tore while doing a light stretch. I was prescribed Cipro for a leg "infection" that turned out to be eczema. My niece graduated from nursing school in 2018. She didn't learn a thing about this class of drugs in school.

Hi I live in Australia and three years ago was given 750 mg twice a day for 21 days. No warning in the box , nothing said by doctor or pharmacist ever. I was already on anxiety medication, valium and given metoclopramide to stop the severe vomiting within minutes of my first ciprofloxin pill. All meds provided by the same pharmacy that keep my records. I had delayed wound healing, became very weak and fatigued, loss of appetite, cracked lips, genitalia tissue started to bleed. Painful shins, burning feet, blurred vision while on the medication, however didnt know what was causing it at the time. 3 days after the course , floaters in both eyes and eye flashes. Diagnosed as PVD. Light sensitivity, visual snow, nightmares, extreme panic attacks, neck spasms 24/7 , twitching, body jolts, confusion, tinitus. Doctors deny any connection and dismiss it even though it’s in the warnings. They respond with oh they put everything in there to cover themselves, dosnt mean you’ll get it. I’ve tried everything i can think of to help heal myself, spent at leat $30,000 . Can no longer work and living off my savings. I don’t understand why not one but multiple doctors and specialist don’t know about the serious side effects of these drugs. My life was amazing before this. Now im just existing every day is a struggle.

Last year an ER doctor put me on a fourteen day prescription for Cipro but I quit taking it five days in after learning of the side effects. When I voiced my concerns to my GP, he basically said if you can take something that's safer and just as effective, why not do it? So he put me on Cefuroxime which worked just as well. Thankfully I never developed any serious issues from Cipro. Even so, I won't touch fluroquinolones again.

He was on it for 3 days, started getting weak, Joint pains throughout his body, stopped taking it as condition worsening. Went back to the GP who just said, don't take it. #But you prescribed it doc and now I'm In so much pain. Doc's no answer. Luckily aweek to 10 days later, he started feeling better again. #stay away from Cipro as it's toxic.

I am 66 years old. I was given a ten day prescription of cipro and flagyl for diverticulitis in May 2016and noticed a decline in my health immediately. I lost my strength in arms and legs and soon became so weak that I could not work. I also had terrible anxiety and panic. I had a ruptured appendix in August 2018 and again hit hard with flagyl and cipro and I now use a walker outside of my home if walking more than a quarter of a block. My legs do not work well and I can barely function. My life is ruined and I cry every day. I contacted a lawyer and they said that the statute of limitations was exceeded and nothing could be done. How do I continue to live....the peripheral neuropathy is so painful. I was so looking forward to my retirement to enjoy my life and now I feel that I am ready to leave this earth. How do I go on?

Since April 2013, I developed well over 30 serious adverse reactions and damages... I also have partial bicep tendon ruptures and partial shoulder tendon ruptures, nerve damage, neuropathy, severe insomnia, couldn’t stand or walk for more then 5-10 min. for well over 2 years, and took me min. 2 1/2 hours just to get out of bed every morning... screaming, crying and curing in excruciating mind boggling pain; as well liver, kidney, physical heart damage, retina started detaching in my right eye, arthritis, severe brain fog, depersonalizations, hair falling out, psychotic nightmares I’m pre dieabetic now, embilicocord heneria, muscle fatigue, muscle spasms... the list goes on. All from 9 Cipro xl pills for a suspected UTI infection. My first adverse reaction was within 2 hours of the 1st pill...my eyes went criss cross with double vision, and another few hours of the 1st Cipro pill I couldn’t sleep ... slept 1-2 minute intervals for a total of 20 min. a night! I had no idea an antibiotic could do all this damage. I even developed Degenerative disc disease and within 4 months after stopping Cipro I lost 2 1/2” in my height and another 1/2” within another few months... I was dying by 7 months out - it’s a miracle I’m here today... but relapse occur for the rest of your life! I still didn’t list all my adverse damages either! I am damaged from head to toe and inside and out... but after 2+ years of excruciating non stop pain... I found something that helped me live 80% normal life for 2 years. Than I had a fall on black ice 2 years ago, and set off a FQ relapse, bit it’s nothing close to how bad I was first 2 years... Have you been FLOXED??? You need to know...so google it!!!

I got floxed in 2018. tendons, ligaments, anything joint related. Black box warning came out 2 weeks after I got that poison. Was on it for maybe 3 days when pain started and quit immediately after googling ciprofloxin. It took about 6 months for it to start improving and about a year for it to be about maybe 80% better. Mostly done with symptoms at 2 years. Even now with moderate exertion I get some joint / muscle pain and wonder if it's the cipro from 6 years ago or getting old (I'm 58 now). Hang in there! Magnesium supplements seemed to help. My doctor didn't believe it was the Cipro. Thought it was PMR, which a lot of floxed people get told they have, also Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Even tho they started symptoms immediately after taking these poisons.

I just took 1 Cipro 500mg. I have gm had it before and it didn’t bother me. I read the bottle to be sure I didn’t have to take it with food. Then I read the literature that came with it. Scary stuff! 1st dose of 3. Not taking the other 2. Calling Doc tomorrow ! Thanks for your video💕 From a Dr Story fan.

Was prescribed this for prostatitis. Took one but had a neurological reaction in the middle of the night when getting up to use the can at 3am. I felt disoriented and confused and off balance. Although I was aware Cipro can cause dizziness it was not that kind of affect. Took no more of it then I began really reading the side effects. My doc had told me about the tendon damage it can cause but figured it would be rare but it's not rare and can alter your live forever. The rest of the 7 pages of Cipro warnings got my attention. Why is this drug even being prescribed. Unless you are bed ridden and comatose and have no risk of tearing a tendon due to inactivity this drug is not for you or me.

Here’s a question, the US Army while we were deployed in the mountains of Afghanistan in 07/08 were given Ciparo out to us after the meetings we would have with the local village elders to kill the vectors in our stomachs from the food we were provided and couldn’t refuse, I must have gone to hundreds of these meetings over our 18 month deployment, when our medics told us if you didn’t want to stuck in the outhouses for days on end this is what you had to do, now after retiring could this be the trigger for the autoimmune issues a lot of us have all these years later? We were shot up with all kinds of malaria drugs and anthrax vaccines during the deployment. It worries me now, then not as much, as we would get attacked daily threats of instant death out-way a seemingly less threatening med.

Dude! I found my way here because today I picked up my script for mild uti and for once, and I don't know what compelled me to do so because normally I just blindly take what any doc prescribes, not so much after the you know what pandemic, but anyway it had a huge warning stating major side effects on tendons and achilles and I'm very active. Running and working out is way of life I cannot compromise that. Even very minor research I landed on the fda black box warning, and the lawsuits going on as od 2023. I immediately messaged the doc and said, let's try soemthing else because I already have tendon problems due to lifting and running for so many years. I also thought why the hell would you prescribe such a heavy handed drug for a 'mild' infection? The cure can't be worse than the desease.

I was prescibed cipro for a uti and diarrhea and after taking two pills I remembered reading a terrifying article about people that were 'floxxed' by cipro and how dangerous it was many years ago and looked up the side effects and my fears were confirmed. I asked the doc to prescribe me something else and stopped cipro. luckily I didn't have any effects from the two pills and i took nitrofurantoin instead. I really don't understand why cipro is still being prescribed however. Another antibiotic to stay away from is bactrim, although not common there have been cases of people getting collapsed lungs from taking it and almost dying.

I was prescribed Cipro about three years ago for UTI. I remember feeling ill after taking that poison and feeling really hot. The scary part is that I didn’t know about these horrible side effects until I completed the regiment. I had a popping every so often in the back of my ankle for a couple weeks and as it would happen I was scared out of my mind that my Achilles was about to completely fail. Thankfully that subsided and will never ever touch cipro or anything like it! I pray people who are truly suffering get well. What the pharmaceutical companies, fda and doctors are doing is nothing short of criminal..

Since this is an old post, For anyone looking for info here, you shouldn’t simply stop taking the prescribed antibiotic. If you have symptoms then speak to your prescriber immediately and see if they recommend changing the antibiotic. All medications have risk for side effects so make sure you are educated by your physician or nurse prior to accepting treatment so you are aware of what symptoms to look for. Also if you are receiving any antibiotic it is recommended to take probiotics as antibiotics don’t specifically target harmful bacteria, they also kill your normal flora or good bacteria. Speak with your doctor about a probiotic, some hospitals do this as a protocol and others don’t. If you are picking up a prescription of antibiotics you can ask the pharmacist there and they can recommend one for you too.

@@AdamJStoryDC I find it very odd that many people who've suffered adverse reactions from Covid-19 were prescribed a Flouroquinolone. Then you have the many that had Covid and it was the basic cold back to normal for them . A few people I've spoken to told me they've known people that got crippled from Covid and I would ask them hmm that's odd as I don't hear of Covid crippling people. Especially at scale . So I would dig deeper and ask what they were experience. I was then told these people had pneumonia . So I asked how did they treat it. And they would say they were told there's no cure . They were just given Antibiotics and told to rest up . "Antibiotics" 🤔 Now I'm seeing where all the so called Covid crippling is coming from .
