How wonderful to see such an honest and loving relationship between Mother and Daughter. My only concern about electing an anti-bullying Ambassador is they would turn out to be like prefects. In my day....a long long time ago the nice girls that became prefects also let the power go to their heads and in their own way became bullies.

What a fantastic MUM you are! And Maddie, well done for speaking about how bullying made you feel. It takes GUTS to talk about this sort of thing, like your MUM said. Personally, I feel that ALL parents need to educate their children to stick up for their friends. I educated my daughter to do this, so when her friends got bullied she protected them. It was a real shame her friends did not do the same for her! I would like to personally thank Prince William for starting this charity. His mother was made to feel stupid. She struggled in school, and was also bullied about her nose etc. He sent my daughter a lovely letter. I feel so lucky that I never experienced bullying in school; however, my friend did. I got up on the school bench and shouted, "LEAVE HER ALONE!" It is amazing how just one voice, telling bullies to back off can change their behaviour. My friend did not get bullied again. Sadly, I ended up letting her down, and hanging around more popular girls later on. These girls were not bullies. But like you Nadia, I wanted to be popular. Crazy, when I look back. And sad. I still feel bad for the friend I let down. And have apologised to her openly on Facebook in front of everyone. An apology can change the world, and make people think more and be kinder. I would say becoming a mother has made me a better, less selfish person. So I would like to thank my daughter for that. Like you Nadia, I still get upset when my daughter tells me how State School made her feel stupid and sad. One girl said, "I would never be friends with you because you are so short!" Children made fun of my daughter because she struggled with her Times Tables. Teachers need to stop bullying children that struggle in school, and forcing them to read out loud, or do their times tables in front of the class. This is BULLYING! Of course there are some teachers that do not do this. And Melody had a few favourite teachers. Ofsted needs to take the pressure off teachers, so they don't bully our kids. You can see Prince Williams letter on this BLOG. It is a real shame that he could not attend Melody's singing stories, as it would have proved to the UK Government that our children are not INVISIBLE! This was so powerful, and emotional, hearing how Maddie was bullied, Nadia you must be so proud of your beautiful and talented daughter, what an amazing young women she is, home schooling was the making of her, I'm so sorry to hear of anybody getting bullied, I was bullied when I was at school, it is horrendous, and I'm so happy that their is this campaign out now, 😊⭐️

Shes beautiful with such a grown up head on her shoulders, I had a few problems at secondary school that I struggled through without telling parents, I'm so glad maddie told hers and they helped her get away from the situation.

I myself was Bullied at school from the age of 5-13 for being Fat & My Daughter was Bullied for being Popular with Boys & Girls! I dealt with it in my own way but My Daughter was Brave & told me all about it & so together with the help of her Teachers we got her through it!! Please tell someone do not Stay Silent Do Not Let Them Win!!

I remember watching Grange Hill in the early 1980s when bullying, and in particular racist bullying, was a major storyline in one season (around the height of the National Front in the UK). Grange Hill was instrumental in bringing the issue to the minds of those first generaion imigrant parents who had no clue what their children were going through at school. Forever grateful to Grange Hill screenwriters and the BBC for covering the issue in a show they knew many children watched together with their parents. A generation of kids grew up wishing they had a Mr Baxter or a Mr Keating at their school.

Agnieszka Kozlowska May be because Maddie is pretty, seems such a kind girl, if Maddie was a rebel, she would probably be on their side, but she’s different in a very good way. I was bullied by many and it was horrendous, I never understood why. I fought back, took time and I’ve never looked back. I never talk about much of my childhood, and that’s where I want it to stay, in the past. Maddie has such a loving family who support her, which is fantastic.

What a nasty insensitive comment. There’s obviously more to it. It’s not a simple as that when a CHILD is getting that from so many kids and their suffering from anxiety, due to bullying that’s gone on for a while. It’s easy for someone to say that when they’ve not lots their confidence. If someone was sexually abused, just a sexist remark can be very triggering.
