I had the chance to see these guys live and it was amazing. They've got so much energy on stage. Then I got home and found out they're all about 40 years old.. Gotta love musicians like these guys. The passion never dies.

Given the current political state of things we need more bands/musicians like Anti-Flag. We though Iraq was bad, but things have only gotten worse.

I don't understand why many fans complaint about "this" Anti-Flag. In my opinion, they weren't that wrong to move to another label or to change their sound "a little". It's weird to expect to modify something in the world - as I think they want to - by making music to the same and old people. Do you really believe it's possible to improve this world only in the underground? Their message is there, but now it can reach more fans and, in a certain way, be more effective.

Why? You don't like cops, become one. You don't like the government, join it. Nothing ever changed by sitting on the sideline and complaining, it changes by people changing it. Don't you wish everyone felt and thought like you? Much love from Japan!

The lyrics are a definite improvement over Bright Lights, The People or the Gun, and General Strike. However, its still not as good as their old stuff. This song sounds like a bunch of loosely connected sociology buzzwords. However, this song gives me hope for the rest of the album.
@AMABotelho9 жыл бұрын
socomseal93 I can imagine it being an intro of sorts, considering it is (99% sure) the first song on the album. That would absolutely explain the rather broad topic.

I really like the song for it's anthemic qualities, but it's a bit hyperbolic in spots. For example: "if Dr. King were here today/he's fight for much more than a dream" Really? It's fucking worse now? Worse than before Civil Rights reforms? Worse than when there was a fucking draft? Worse than before Roe v Wade? Worse despite gay marriage and the encroaching legalization of weed? It should be "he'd still have to fight hard for his dream" or some shit.

I like this band, I just get bored with their lyrics. Cool, bad people exist. What's new? Politics just don't interest me. It's just a bunch of people arguing over stupid stuff while important stuff goes unnoticed because they're too busy arguing and protecting their ego to realize it. Things aren't that bad anymore anyways.

Isn't funny how if a band changes how it sounds over a long career they sellout or they aren't whatever they were considered in the beginning of how they sound or if they don't experiment in different sounds they are just bitches profiting off of shit plz for all the people who think that look at the Beatles who were practically a boy band when they hit US shores and how they became one of the best and experimental bands of all time or the clash who are punk legends and how experimental they got in how they sounded like in rock the casbah

Lyrics are good, but no more punk rock :( what happened to the beautiful anti flag of a new kind of army? Their system doesnt work for you? Die for the government, underground network? What happened to that anti flag?!!?!?!
@Super10Benja9 жыл бұрын
Don't worry mate! They're not as underground as they were before, but they still have some harder punk rock songs. IMO nowadays they have 2 kinds of songs: 1. Poppier sound, with awesome lyrics, usually sung by Justin. 2. Heavier, more punky sound, also with awesome lyrics, ususally sung by Chris #2. I'm alright with that. :)
