Anti-flag is more relevant than EVER! The band delivers hard hitting political commentary in their very NAME! "Wave the flag and mindlessly salute" indeed! That's certainly the order of the day, it would seem. We're told exactly what to think about the flag. We're told we have to bow down to this piece of cloth; To worship it. I say, FUCK THAT! I'd rather stay true to what that flag actually represents, which is FREEDOM. We get to decide for ourselves whether to engage in jingoistic flag worship. I'll be damned if some NFL owner or politician is going to tell me what I think about the flag. The fact they would even attempt to do so is an insult to all of those who have fought and died for that flag.

It's a damn shame when the country protesting dictators and tyrants so often times undermines democracy to install their own form of government. Do I agree with such actions? fuck no and the founding fathers would not stand for such hypocrisy
@tonyb.23412 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I don’t understand this flag worship in this country. It’s what it represents. Not the flag itself. But people only look at the flag as if it’s a god or something. Burn the flag or kneel during the anthem and they go crazy like you killed someone. But it’s a right we have as Americans. It’s protected under the first.but people seem to not care about what the flag represents. The one who call themselves “real Americans “ are the ones who don’t know what it means to be an American. They are marching this country towards an authoritarian government

I still find it funny that people didn't realise that anti-flag, rage against the machine and dead Kennedys are political until a few months ago
@kobked-x3 жыл бұрын
or that "punk" is all political or social commentary

Forgot to mention System of a Down. Lol, I also find it funny because I realized these bands were political at 11 years old.

Or that the message of those bands align with multi billion dollar corporations like facebook ,youtube, google, goldman sachs etc. fight the system huh?

@@yuribezmenov9516 ah yes Google are well known for being anti-google and capitalism
@yuribezmenov95163 жыл бұрын
@@soupeater7417 they're not "anti-capitalism". They're just bootlickers for multinational corporations. Anti capitalism for progressives results in the destruction of the middle class and small businesss owners and bigger market shares for big corporations.

There's always the saying about being born in the wrong time... A few decades earlier and these guys would be huge...

Anar Chi They are around since the 90s and the world hasn't changed at all (since the 70s ? 80s ?). We still live in a world of corruption, corporate greed and capitalism. It's always time to start a revolution and thinking about making a change.
@inkehandapathy3169 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but punk and anarchy isn't as huge as it was in the 70s-80s. If they were around then, they'd be huge.

True, it has become more peacefully. But if enough people find a reason to protest against the government they will do it, but the problem is to find enough people to make a stand. Everyone is just a victim and a slave of the media and believes the lies they tell us. Rarely, anybody questions the acts of the media or governments.

Anar Chi Yeah, but these guys could not have existed had they not been exposed to bands like the Clash. We're a product of our times.
@richardhell6739 жыл бұрын
Anar Chi these guys would have been overwhelmed by actual punk's, these guys are the biggest poser trash i've ever heard. I regard blink 182 higher than these tools.

If you know so much more than the 14 year old kids, enlighten them. In my opinion that is the responsibility of every generation to share knowledge. It is good to see 14 year old dudes and chicks showing interest in understanding how the world is working or not working? This is not a competition of who understands or knows what. Democracy is supposed to be a means of finding balance between opinions. Share yours in a moderately educated and respectful manner and we move forward. Anti-Flag rules.
