Judging from real history, the US probably wanted to make the Panama canal and thought helping brazil conquer you could be cheaper then paying you to kake the canal. Which also explains why they dipped out so fast, you were too expensive to conquer and Brazil kinda sucked as an ally.

I do wish they used the battle system to simulate guerrilla war, that way even if taking Costa Rica was easy it would be hard to integrate because you would have to fight guys in the middle of the jungle. It would make wars way more interesting

I am Brazilian, and cool fact, the north of Brazil (where is Colombia south part) is Acre, that was given to prevent Colombia to join the Paraguai war and in the future as the first WW was almost at it end we bought it to extract the latex from the trees, the payment was 30k libras esterlinas and the construction of a roadway, but as we searched for the latex tree Colombia had made the worst kind of extraction of latex, the one that kills the tree, so we bought a big lot of earth that was originally from us, but as a “vengeance” we didint build all the railroad, only 80km of it

ok, that is cool. Angola Janga (or small angola) is basically the local name for the Quilombo dos Palmares. Quilombo is the name given to a independent community of escaped slaves. Palmares' Quilombo was also the first republic in Brazil. so with your war you not just forced Brazil to end slavery but also gave the oldest Brazilian state to the freed slaves to create their own independent state. and you didn't even realize it LOL

21:10 is a good example of the flaws in the AI and combat as a whole. USA had the much easier option to come in from the North of your country as a Naval landing in Costa Rica, which would have split you across two fronts, away from your allies and quickly gone on the offensive to take your capital and knock you out of the war. Instead it clicked "offensive" on a front in the Amazon where its ally was, but that shouldn't have any supply (certainly not enough for hundreds of thousands of men) and everything just stacks onto it with no real tactics. It doesn't matter who has naval supremacy, it doesn't matter that your allies might be better positioned, everyone just zerg rushes one point with all their armies. All because there's basically no penalty for being out of supply and no problem having 100k vs 100k battles (larger than the battle of Waterloo) deep in the Amazon rainforest... Had the AI been smart then Russia would have done a Naval landing to take it's treaty port and left some forces to defend there, and then dumped the rest of its forces on you Southern border with Brazil, while the UK would have dealt with a small force to defend your Northern border, and used its Navy to cut off all enemy reinforcements and then do various Naval landings to threaten their capitals when they go to a front line. We're in 2023 but AI in video games, especially Grand Strategy, just never seems to have improved from 2003, it is still making the same simple thought processes of immediate solution rather than any discernable tactical or strategic decisions, which is a problem in a game about strategy where the whole point is being challenged by other nations. We've just accepted developers copy and pasting the same old AI for years and years rather than any money or effort going into developing the core part of what makes the game fun, in favour of them spending solely on graphical improvements every 10 years.
